With Kerr's retirement the Spurs have the opportunity to add another player to take his spot on the active roster next season. Here are a few ideas...

Jackson, Stephen
He doesn't seem to be finding the $$$ he thought he would this summer. I think Utah and Denver will make him decent offers but nothing approaching 5 years and $30 mil. Yet Denver just gave Earl Boykins a 5 year deal so the Nuggets may prove me wrong. If Jack was willing to sign for something reasonable (3 or 4 years, ~$4 mil per) then I think the Spurs should take him back. Mercer would probably have to be disposed of. Also, it's not guaranteed that Turkoglu will re-sign with the Spurs next summer so there is some value in bringing a guy like Jack back. Proven player in the clutch. Knows the Spurs system and will play defense. A great part of the Spurs' perimeter D was having guys 6'7" and taller at the 2 and 3. He's only 25 and does have room for improvement. He's shown he's been willing to work on his game.

Batiste, Mike
He was on the Spurs' summerleague team in the RMR. He's a restricted free agent but Memphis is definitely overloaded on the perimeter. The Spurs can only offer him the minimum outright. A nice young player with some upside.

Stepania, Vladimir
He has a good shot for a player his size. He averaged 7 rebounds in 20 minutes a game with the Heat last season. He's lasted two years with Riley and a player doesn't do that unless they will play defense and put up with the rest of his BS. If you could get a 7'1"/255 lbs center who can pull down 7 boards a game for the minimum...why not?

Johnson, DerMarr
He was on the Grizzlies' summerleague team. He performed well according to the reports I read. Memphis is inundated with swingmen so perhaps that won't be an attractive destination. Of course the Spurs don't exactly have a lot of room themselves but Johnson is trying to prove that he can still make it in this league.

Lenard, Voshon
Instant offense. He'd be the type of guy Pop could call on to put some points on the board if all else fails. I think he will be looking for and will probably get a more significant role on another team but you never know...

Morris, Terence
He was on the Spurs' summerleague team in the RMR and I don't have the stats in front of me. Basically you bring in him if you think you can groom him into a future role player. At 6'9" he's worth a look for a perimeter player.

Hill, Tyrone
Willis was effective last season but he's 41 years old. I think the Spurs could benefit from having a little more size on the bench. Hill would be a nice fit and Pop has a good relationship with him.

Jackson, Mark
I've seen some concern expressed on this board about the lack of a 3rd point guard. I don't really see it, but if the Spurs are so concerned then perhaps they could bring in someone like Mark Jackson. At his age he might be ready for a Kerr-like role.

Miller, Reggie
Why not replace Kerr with another old dude known for hitting clutch shots? Miller will probably get a significant deal from Indiana but hey, if Malone & Payton took less money for a better shot at a ring why not Miller? Unlikely yet interesting.
And last, but not least...
