This is true, Philly and Boston look the worst..
Spurs were in a tough spot..if they weren't so classy, the best move would have been to dare Kawhi to sit out an entire season again..that would be petty, though, and Pop would have never done that:lol

Another disgraceful thing that needs to be considered in all of this: PATFO pulled the trigger rather soon in large part because they didn't have the stomach to deal with the media circus that was set in motion by Kawhis trade demand..
This front office is too soft; it is not used to the vagaries of normal NBA franchise. They have no expertise dealing with these type of turmoils since they had basked in Duncan's basket utopia for the entirety of their career..

If Kawhi leads the Toronto to the Finals and, say, they take 2 games off the Warriors it should be the end of PATFO as anything resembling a serious and competent front office..

He tied our hands he stole money from the organization we still tried to repair shit with him ginobli retired Parker gone what else could we have done besides give him part ownership of the team???? Teams all low balled us what were we to do who were we getting??? It hurts it sux he single handedly took down a dynasty franchise but I'm not about to blame the Spurs. He was/is a sensitive mute bitch and after the Spurs helped make him the player he is he dropped us like we were nothing and in doing so handcuffed the orginization by not allowing us to at least get close to equal value.

Woj, Windhorst and several other credible people have said it..
Yes, they said it was coming from the Kawhi camp.
You are aware what else was being said aren't you? And you are aware of the timeline aren't you?
If not, let me give you a brief recap of the other things they leaked to Woj, etc:
They said San Antonio was the reason he lost his shoe deal with Jordan brand.
They said Pop didn't ask for Kawhi's input
They said the Spurs were too controlling specifically related to asking him to leave early for the All Star game so he wouldn't get caught in traffic...which he did.
They said the Spurs wouldn't let him get a second opinion on his quad, which has been proven as a bald faced lie. He had been seeing a specialist since before last season even started.
They then hid him from Spurs doctors and said the Spurs hadn't checked on his status but that Pop and heim talked regularly, which also wasn't true.
They lied out of their ass and attempted hits on his teammates, coaching staff, training staff, doctors, front office, and the city of San Antonio.
In short, he is a major league punk ass bitch. He lied. His manager and representatives lied. And they put the Spurs in a really shitty position all while paying him $19M and while trying to make him the face of the franchise for the next decade.
This infuriates me to no end to keep seeing these straight up fabrications repeated as fact here. Youguysare fucking toolsfor putting even one ounce of blame on PATFO until we know anything more.
Again, it's clear as day that Nephew and his team put the Spurs in an unenviable position and it came out of the blue.
Fuck all of you that say otherwise.

From what I have heard the relationship was already fractured when that deal was offered but according to MoSpur the Spurs FO thought they could still fix it hence why it dragged on until the summer. The Celtics made the offer around the trade deadline last year and Spurs passed up on it. Wouldn't have done the Clipps deal. Tobias is not a max player in my eyes. He's a great third or fourth option on a championship team.

harris is not a max guy, but his a guy who can spread the floor, unlike ddr who cant shoot the 3... at leasts harris was a 1yr rental i think had they pulled the deal

Tobias would've been fine if they really wanted to "compete" that badly. I wouldn't offer him a max either, tbh. It's the picks that intrigued me. 15/16 > 29/Turdtl

Also, why is 16/39 on 41% shooting a bad thing? Who else were they going to feed? Ibaka who was the only other Raptor to show up? :lol DD shot 33% in his game 7 against worse defenders.
It's pretty shitty. I can't be a hypocrite about it since I bashed Kobe for years for having shit games like this and getting bailed out by Gasol. In #2's case I won't even say his teammates bailed him out more so the Sixers just choked a lot harder. I have never seen a player shoot that poorly on that many attempts and win a playoff game.

Mentioned this in another thread. People are acting like he shot 25% or something
Clutch as hell in 4th too after shooting so poorly. Maintained his confidence despite probably one of his worst shooting performances ever

Well, we definitely can't say it was his teammates when he scored most of the points in the 4th and no one else except Ibaka shot over 37%. We also can't hate on his percentage this game when he was averaging MJ numbers for most of the series.

I don't see any prospects that really stand out from last year's draft after the top 14. Lonnie Walker looks as good potential wise as the other guys drafted after 14 of last year's draft. Here is is the list of all the guys drafted in 2018. You tell me who you would have wanted the Spurs to get with those picks https://www.basketball-reference.com/draft/NBA_2018.html

That's what it boils down to. All the other teams that were interested but didn't commit. They look even dumber. Celtics and Sixers messed up

You are moving the goal post. I base performances game to game and not what a player did the previous game. Sure he had a great series but it doesn't change the fact he shot a very shitty percentage today. I can't think of a time where a guy took close to 40 FG attempts and shot below 45 percent and won a playoff game. Like I said before the Sixers choked harder today then the Raptors. Ask yourself this question do you think he would have won had he had that type of game against an experienced team like the Warriors?

Spurs got 19 and 29. I mention 19 because their record would have been better had they not traded #2. They will get the same type of quality players with those 2 picks like they would have gotten last year with 15 and 16.

You can say that about any team. Your star not shooting well isn't exactly a recipe for success. He showed up when it mattered though.
And, again, can't really fault him. The 76ers threw everything at him while no one else except Ibaka showed up and he still took them to the ECF. :tu:

Not impressed I saw a guy who had his typical meltdown in an elimination game much like he did against the Thunder in game 6 back in '17 when he shot 9-23. The only difference was the Sixer's star players just choked harder. Truly a pathetic game by both teams to be honest.

i hope masai took the $5 million the spurs sent him and bet it all on the TOR making the ECF :lol
Lol. What an accomplishment that'd be. Make it back to the place that DDR just took you the year before last. Where they will lose again. And then you'll lose that asset and be left with nothing but a whiff of Giannis' ass and the loss of a first round pick, a starting center, and deal with a severely bloated payroll if they even want to compete for a 6 spot next year.
Congrats on that payout

No need for all this anger..
I agree that the front office was in an impossible position and I've been very anti-Leonard due to his actions..however, like I said, Parker killed any chance at a reunion, there was no need for him to say what he said, it was completely unnecessary..
Kawhi likely would have wanted out regardless, but Parker's comments were the last straw..he slapped Pop in the mouth and then went to Charlotte:lol

That is some weak stuff. The fact that Kawhi called it the last straw doesnt make it logical. It’s someone using something as a ploy.
Critical thinking skills would have anyone quickly understanding this. Its like when someone cheats on their spouse then blames their suspicions on why they cheated :lol. You realize you were actually cheating already, right :lol?

Cris Carter is the guy I take more seriously than all of these guys since he's #2's mouth piece. At first Cris was saying Parker's comment's bothered #2 but when Parker left he immediately changed the story. He then said it wasn't really what Parker said that bothered #2 but it was other things in the Spurs organization. Basically if you use commons sense you can tell #2's camp was using Parker as a scapegoat to get out of SA and then changed up the story once Parker left.

Cris Carter doesn't have any credibility and there's no actual proof that he's Kawhi's voice..
Woj is the most reliable man in the industry and Zach Lowe doesn't say things without having a credible source..
As a man, how would you feel if one of the faces of your team called you pussy in front of the world?

Toronto's run is largely due to two players the FO grabbed in the first place. That same FO brought back a package that took a 2 seed to 7 games without their starting all-nba defensive PG, in a situation where their hands were tied.

Cris is part of impact sports. His agent Mitch Frankel represents #2. Cris is an investor in impact sports. His brother also trained with #2. Cris was parroting the exact same stuff Woj and Lowe were up until Parker left. That clip you posted was a week or so before Parker left. Show me a clip of those two guys saying the same stuff afterwards.
