Steve Kerr has as much comeback wins as Pop has comeback loses... I imagine 10 titles spurs having today if you replace Pop with Kerr coaching the team all these years!

Kerr would have won the '99 and probably '07 championships and that's it.

So 2.

I've always said Pop plays not to lose instead of trying to win. That explains alotof his playoff losses. He lacks that killer instinct.

I mean Kerr lost to Ty Lue while up 3-1. Also was down 3-1 against Donovan at one point. But we wouldn’t have won more in the prime Laker days. I like to think he would’ve beat Dallas in 06 but does he beat Larry Brown in 05? I’m not sure. 3 would be my guess since I believe that 99 was destiny. 99,06,07

Early and prime Pop was a great coach. No way a coach like Kerr beats the Lakers. It's after 2014 Pop who's gon senile. A coach like Kerr probably would've beaten the Clippers in 2015, OKC in 2016 and the Nuggets in 2019. So it's somethimg like 2015(WCF or Ring), 2016 (WCF or Ring) 2019 (WCF)

Awesome, another one of these threads! I was just saying to myself the other day how we much we needed another one!

No, more like if Mid 2000 Spurs added a top player who happened to be on another contending western conference team (Like Kobe), then im pretty sure the spurs make 6 to 8 finals in a row.

we would no longer have to worry about that team and injuries to the big 3 wouldn’t be as big a deal

We got 6 if Manu didn't Fuck it all up in 2006..
Maybe 7. Because Pop did Fuck it up in 2013..

All that said they don't have 5 that is for sure.. He is on the Mount Rushmore of coaches..

Yup. I'd say about 9 or 10 championships with a great coach in that whole Duncan era. Duncan won 5 in spite of Pop. Robbed of many others. Let's not forget that stupid small ball bs and the Bonner era. Smh

We'd have more titles if:

TD was healthy in 2000
Fisher's .04 didn't count
Manu didn't foul Dirk
Refs didn't help the Thunder in '12
Load Management hit a fucking free throw in Game 6
Zaza didn't do his hit job in '17

None of those were Pop's fault...except for benching TD in 6 but even that is a little debatable.

Where's Pop being getting bent over in '15 and '16 on that list?

I don't think pop was bent over. Parker just sucked that series

Having 11 titles would more than justify any fault you see from him in those years you mentioned.

Kerr obviously changed the way the Warriors play on O. But he did come in when Curry went supernova on the league. The new rules also helped the Warriors over the last few years. Kerr's biggest challenge was keeping Warriors engaged enough and managing Green. Not many people talk about Spo since the Heat broke up. Do you guys think Kerr could lead the current Spurs to the playoffs?
