This has been my choice for half a season for the Spurs to pick up a backup 3&D wing on their budget. Still is. He's a typical Spurs success story, in that he's worked his ass off, and continued to improve - and he's a character guy. He got his 3p% up, and his foul rate down. My biggest gripe is that he hasn't been a very productive rebounder. They like him in NO, and if Anthony Davis hadn't demanded a trade there's no doubt that they would have tried to keep him.

It sounds like the Spurs have Gay locked up. They're looking for someone to play behind Gay, not ahead of him. (Can't afford Khris Middleton, for instance, on the MLE.) Miller checks pretty much all the realistic boxes. I don't know if it's possible for anyone to really be under the radar these days, but it might even be possible for them to sign him and have part of the MLE left over.

With the demand for guys fitting that description, I'd be surprised if they can do better with the MLE. If they do, I'll be very pleased.

I wouldn't be upset over picking him up at all I think he's more playable than Quincy Pondexter was at this point.

I’m not against miller but that means no Bertans or beli. Will the spurs get rid of one of them ?

how good is he defensively? Would be ok for the 2nd unit, but I'd look for a solid starter who can lock opposing SFs up

He is a good defender, an average athlete but he moves his feets pretty well imo.

Theres significant interest in Bertans and they were close to moving up with him as the center point

Darius Miller, last contract $2.2 million.

Shot .365 from 3pt range at 5.3 attempts/gm last season.

Not a good rebounder. Less than 2 reb/gm, despite 25 min/gm.
