This is so weird, I don't think he's a good fit there. Where do they dump Iggy?

Damn-- impressive surprise move by the Warriors. When Klay returns, he slides to SF.

Steph better not win MVP with narrative he has no help.

He has 3 all stars in the team.

They are going to go all offense ala the Nash/NVE backcourt.......except they only have two guys that can score until Klay returns.

They're gonna be the 28th ranked defense

Iguodala to Memphis. I predict a buyout, and he will sign with Houston

D-Wade

Ah back to the Monta/B-Diddy days. Ultimately, they'll choose D-Lo to take over from their injury-prone older star lol.

06-30-2019, 10:51 PM
Will they keep D-Lo just for this season to fill for Klay? Or are they going to let Draymond walk next season? I don't think they can afford both.

Wouldn't be surprised if the Warriors sign Khem Birch for cheap to shore up their switching D a little.

I think it's a good move. With all the money they're committing to their core, they weren't going to be able to add a high level, proven young guy anytime. So while the fit might not be perfect, they're adding a young kid who just put up an all star season and is in his young 20s. It's a move that takes into consideration a lot of different factors, including injury concerns for Steph and Klay, future financial limitations, getting younger. I don't know if it will work as far as keeping them in legit title contention. But I do think it was smart.

Van Exel at 1, Nash at 2, Finley at 3, Williams at 4, Dirk at the 5 were impossible to stop when they were on top of their game.

You'd think this Warriors team would drop a lot of points on you but teams are just gonna force the ball out of Steph's hands, let D'Angelo do whatever he wants since he's a low BBIQ inefficient shooter. They're also hard capped now.

Has to be the one of, if not the most unbalanced team I've ever seen. Legitimately one of the best offenses ever, but gave up dunks/layups almost at will :lol

So with Russell and Curry, plus Thompson out for most of next season, Warriors completely gave up on defense at the guard positions. Interesting move.

Especially for their time when the NBA was just coming out of its all-time defensive peak. It wasn't like the freewheeling '80s or today where the average games were played in the 110s. Cuban took over the Mavs and thought he could use smallball, long range shooting at all 5 positions (Dirk's backup LaFrentz shot the 3 as well) to bring back run-n-gun showtime and it worked to an extent, no they didn't ever win a ship or make the Finals but they were fun as hell to watch and pretty damn competitive. They were by far the best team in the league in 2002-03 up until the all star break. And even in the playoffs, the Mavs probably win that championship if Dirk doesn't go down.

People credit D'Antoni for the rise of "today's NBA" but the early 00s Mavs with Nellie were actually the precursor and calalyst to that. The Avery Johnson Mavs years, on the other hand... that was some painful, ghastly, eyesore iso basketball that was only often bailed out by Dirk's greatness.

As great a recap of the pre-Carlisle Dirk years as I have seen.

There was nothing better out there for them. They're kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place. Their core is still too young to blow it up, they have a new arena to fill, but also not good enough to contend next year. So they get a young asset and see how it goes.

I'd try to keep Boogie as well if I was them.

The solution was to get Shimmy Walker / Jamison the following summer :spin

Russell, 23, still raises maturity questions. In May, he was cited for marijuana possession after TSA agents at New York’s LaGuardia Airport say they found less than 50 grams hidden in a secret compartment of a fake Arizona Iced Tea can while Russell was going through a security check.

But he’s not gotten into any serious trouble, and his play has certainly earned him the reward of a big contract.

Kerr, and that structure there would be the wise choice to straighten him out, set him on a career path of goodness, but, is it too late there, is State jumbled & torn, ready to pivot? (That) was as good as it gets & it will never get (that) good again.
