But in all seriousness, the Spurs might have found a gem here.

He had some good moves tonight, he looked in control very early when everyone else looked like they never played basketball in that 1st quarter.

Liked what I saw. Good moves to the basket. Plays under control and active on defense.

Give him a piece of that MLE and move one of Beli/Mills (plus probably moving on from Metu for the roster spot)

First off, nickname proposal : Eskimo ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qz3vQ6vpIwY Yes there is also a version by Dylan, not to mention the original by Manfred Mann). Second, does he remind anyone else of George Hill?

Dude was a bonafide closer for Mississippi State.

This guy may be a Mississippi State sleeper ala Dak Prescott.

I think guys like him, Hart, White, Kuzma etc falling is a direct result of the draft-n-stash method dying. The second-round used to be where you had to draft Euros so that you could afford to bring them over when the time was right. Now that those guys are going all over the first round, these guys are falling down. It's not that amazing that a guy with Spoony's experience can come in and play well against a modest step up in competition. He has a grown man's body and years to get a feel for the game. Still, it'll be good to have someone like him who can come in and get some minutes if the Spurs have a rash of guard injuries again. I was in favor of creating a roster spot to sign and older vet for the min. Bringing Spoony over instead might fill that hole with much more upside and option value.

Great that you know Dylan and Manfred Mann.

But in the interest of fair and accurate reporting, the original "Quinn the Eskimo" was by Dylan (he wrote it) and Manfred Mann did the cover.

Hopefully him and the rest of the young players keep looking good and stay healthy.

He really looked good against Cleveland and the only bad things was his turnovers at the end of the game. He played good on defense and didn't force anything on offense. He looked like a pro out there, just steady

I know it's only a first game but I see him as a serviceable guard - he sure has a better upside than Forbes already.
I see some Jamal Murray, Josh Hart and Malcolm Brogdon on his game - I'm not saying he's near to anyone of those but just see some similarities on his game to those players mentioned.

He only has 2.8 APG during his senior year but he got a nice court vision:

no real room for him this year, but after a year in the g-league, he can join the big boys as forbes/marco are both expiring. if he pans out, a long term 3-man rotation of murray/white/weatherspoon could be nice. all those guys can defend 1's and 2's
