I don't think its uncommon with most teams actually, especially if you played both Utah and LV leagues. The Spurs have a lot of guys that need playing time and this is one way they can get people involved and maybe even target their best attributes by diluting the bench. They play and practice every day. From my POV they look pretty tired after the 3rd game in a row.

Anderson had the smarts to dominate Summer League. But never had the speed, athleticism, or shooting to compete at a high NBA level.

Walker seems to be the exact opposite. His first step in NBA-level already. He has speed, hops, and can shoot...he just needs to learn the game.

You can teach basketball, but you can't change someones body. Lonnie has tools in his belt already that SloMo never had, and was never going to get.

Because it's almost impossible to build a really good shooting stroke without a coach of some kind. You need someone observing, while you shoot. Chip is the shooting coach here, and Chip is widely recognized as one of the best in the business. It's not a difficult leap.

Alot of people have given the players including Lonnie and your nephew Kawhi credit on putting in the work to get better. It doesn't matter how great the coach is if the player doesn't want to learn or work so anybody with common sense knows that the most credit goes to the player.
