5 guys cajun fries are my only go-to mainstream fries I like, the rest is from meh to decent - Mcdonalds, in-n-out, etc.

Got a bunch of local places who do great fries, had some beef tallow fries that were excellent. I'm a sucker for poutine and chili cheese fries, try avoiding because it can be like crack :lol

Only had Wing Stop Fries once or twice; but they have to be far and away better than those other ones you listed.

The Halfsies (half regular fries, half curly fries) on the $6 Munchie Meals were my (anti-hangover) shit in college.

Don't know if I can rank them in order, not too big on fries.

Curly fries- Arby's and Jack in the Box are about the same to me.

Billy T's tater tots. Always crispy and golden brown, not burned.

Wendy's- Those natural cut ones just taste better than the other fast food dudes

Steak Escape- See Wendy's. Add their cheese sauce and it's delish.

A good garlic fry- most places seem to use the same sauce, so long as they don't drown the fries, they're usually great at most places.

What's everyone like to dip their fries in? I'm not too keen on ketchup unless it's heavily peppered, but I do recommend taking a little mayo and adding your favorite hot-sauce to it, especially for natural cut/thick cut spuds. Tried that shit at Chester's once and it was bomb.

This highly depends on where I go.
If it's Chick-Fil-A, then definitely their honey mustard.
McDonalds, always their BBQ sauce.
Depending on the place, I used to use cheese sauce or gravy if they have it. But I don't really do that anymore.
If I'm taking it home, I'll often use spicy mustard or just plain yellow.
Not a big fan of ketchup either but I like the Whataburger spicy.

Didn't they just become Carl's Jr. locations? Breakfast joints are pretty much sealed up all over TX with Jims being the local alternative to your Ihops, etc. and squeeze out fast food joints heavily focused on breakfast like Hardees did/used to (not sure as I haven't been to one since 08).

As an aside, one of the best things for potatoes is an Air Fryer. Those things are worth their money. I've made shit in there I wasn't expecting to be half decent (fried fish, fried chicken) and they were AMAZING. But nothing beats putting steak fries, or however you cut your spuds, in that ho. A little olive oil and garlic salt, 15 mins later you got some delish fries to go with heavily peppered ketchup, a little ranch and you're set.

You can just mix regular Heinz/Hunts ketchup with Louisiana hot sauce and you're good there

I remember there being some really subtle but funky, bad aftertaste in the potatoes themselves, nothing wrong with the frying or the seasoning. Like they blend some summer crab grass weeds, volunteer tree leaves and roundup or something in with the potato mix. Also, the hamburger was mediocre, the beef was really mealy and falling apart.

Would not recommend that chain at all.

Millions and millions of unearned dollars later. By the time you get this done, there will be a newer technology to do it better.

I just say cook them well, but well done and you often end up with crunchy potato chips in fry shape.

I love In N Out fries. They taste like the ones my mom made whenever she used the thin fry peeler (otherwise she made steak fries that were wonderful).

Same. We don't even have a DVD player hooked up to our main TV.

Side note...I saw some documentary about VHS tapes and people who collected them. It was amazing how many movies don't even make it to DVD (much less streaming) and will simply just disappear from the public conscious.
I don't expect this for Better Off Dead but it's hard to fathom it not being available on any streaming service.

Those used to be Whopper Burgers way back in the day and there were a bunch of them all over town, but Burger King bought them out so they could call legally their burger The Whopper in San Antonio. Murf's still any good? I used to eat at the Murf's on West Avenue and that shit was great.

There was one on West? Are you not confusing it for the one on San Pedro by the old Solo Serve/ CPS building?

Either way, the last time I had that place it was still fucking awesome.

Does anyone if Burger Boy is still open? They had similar fries to Murph's.
