But damn, my patience is running low with all of these asshole drivers that are always in a rush. Like wtf is the hurry? We used to travel by horse for fucks sake.

Yeah unless you can actually afford to go to jail, there's really nothing you can do but smile and wave.
You also never know who might pull a gun on you if the whole thing escalates

Definitely, I'm almost 99% sure this dude was carrying. I figure if you're willing to just go around yelling at people and acting crazy then you probably have a reason to believe you're invincible.

It's amazing how angry people can get being inconvenienced a few seconds on the road. I had a cracker motherfucker pull his little .22 on me recently because little man in a big truck didn't like where I was parked when he was trying to get out, even when bigger trucks with larger boats were passing just fine.
He was threatening me with profanity and waving his little pea shooter from about 100 yards away. I just smiled back, I had my gun on me also. Wasn't about to draw on him tho. Everyone kind of smiled back at him like I did. Kinda secure knowing there were about 10 witnesses seeing this psychopath just screaming with a rabbit gun just because he had to turn the wheel a few more degrees and took maybe 2 more seconds because my rig was parked somewhere legally . Oh people.

It's crazy out there. That sounds insane tbh. I don't usually carry but I might have to start. I can't even go out without some asshole flipping me the bird because I'm actually going the speed limit. :lol

The best is when someone rides your ass for a few blocks, then eventually changes lanes and speeds past you, and then you catch right back up to them at the next red light.

I was in Boise over the 4th weekend and it's crazy. EVERYONE drives like 2-3 miles under the speed limit, even in the fast lane. The only speeders I saw, aside from myself, almost always had out of state plates. It was definitely frustrating, but I never really angered.
I get pissed when the person ahead of me stops too early at a yellow light we both could have made. But even then, I don't even shoot them the finger.

I don't get why people think riding someone's ass is going to make him drive faster. That's a surefire guarantee that I'm going to go even slower.

Yeah, I'll usually try to do 3-5 over or at least try to keep up with traffic, but damn, I have people doing 10-15 over passing me honking and waving arms and shit. It's like calm the fuck down bro. :lol

It's definitely a Texas thing; worse in Texas than anywhere else I've been. I was in Ohio last summer and the drivers (and people) there were soooooo much nicer and more courteous than Texass assholes, the wild west mentality here is infuriating. Even in Manhattan the people and drivers there were better humans.
Yeah, I usually flip people off. Especially big trucks with big egos (and likely small dicks). They deserve it.

That's how it should be. Go the speed limit on the highway. 1 or 2 over is okay. But in Texas with the wild-west mentality the toxic culture here is that the speed limit is a soft cap where you're free to go 20 or 30 mph over if you really want to and weave through everyone else, it's disgusting.

How do you guys deal with asshole drivers?
In driver's school, they tell you to just let the assholes pass; it's not worth it. I did that for about a year, and driving was just much smoother. Of course, human nature eventually kicks in and we want to blow off steam.
If you're looking for the real answer, it is that simple. If you're looking for something that can feed your innate desire to let assholes have it, then it's a different discussion.

It's not ALL their fault. California highways are really poorly put together. These motherfucking things have like 20 feet of on-ramp lane before you have to merge so anytime there is even "light-heavy" traffic, that shit gets backed up.
AND they are massive rubber neckers here. Like fuck man, it can be anything as insignificant as a broken down piece of shit that has been on the shoulder for two days and still has flow backed up because EVERYONE and their fucking mom has to look at it.

agree with the second sentence. The first sentence is stupid. They should be the ones going to jail, not me. I hate driving. I'd love to live in a highly walkable city where I could walk to work, walk to go play basketball, volleyball, to the pool etc. and restaurants, bars, wherever I wanted. I would only need and use my car when I wanted to pick up a chick or travel. That's my dream. What's a highly walkable city in the USA, in your opinion? Because it's certainly not in Texas, outside of the college towns like College Station and Denton.

Usually this happens when drivers use the passing lane to drive the speed limit. There are seriously millions of people who don't understand the left lane is used for passing on the freeway, in an official or unofficial capacity, it's a rule of the road. Actually, I haven't done that since I was in my teens. Now I just mentally cuss them out and hope they get into a wreck.

I fucking love almost everything about LA but the traffic is so horrific it completely cancels out how amazing the weather is. Driving a Toyota sucks out there, much less an 18-wheeler. I just couldn't imagine trying to change lanes in an 18-wheeler in that traffic or how slow it would be and how much it would cost in gas to be in stop-start traffic there. And then no protected lefts on most city streets? Sounds like a nightmare.

Two lane highways where two cars in each lane are going the exact same speed blocking anyone from passing is one of the most infuriating things driving, especially if it’s on a long stretch.
Lane 1 car (passing): SPEED UP!!
or
Lane 2 car: SLOW DOWN!!
For the love of God, someone do something!!!
Yeah I hate that shit too. I also don't understand why anyone would be okay driving for miles with a vehicle right next to them. If there's something in the road, you greatly limit your swerve options.

Same shit here. It'll probably get me shot some day for it. :lol
I won't do that shit w/ the kids in the car.. You have to assume everybody is packing these days

Surprisingly she wasn't. She looked a lot like Judy Booty (https://www.spurstalk.com/forums/member.php?u=54111). Must've been there picking up soap at Bath and Body Works or something :lol
wow lol.. that or she must have just been kicked off the premises

In Texas, you'd get a ticket for cruising in the passing lane.
I’ve never seen this happen though.
Same.. closest I've ever heard to this law being enforced was a ditzy older co-worker saying she was in the passing lane on 35 somewhere, and the cop starts riding her ass and ultimately flashing his lights.. pulled her over and scolded her for not moving over and allowing him to pass.

Hate that shit.. They'll do this bullshit for long stretches of highway too, and it's 100% just people being oblivious

That would not include going 10 over the speed limit.

Me neither. I'm sure it's really difficult to prove so cops don't bother much.

You're used to moving over for dudes to ram through. It's what you do best.

I have....many times on 35 just north of AUSTIN....they patrol specifically for that from time to time.

Think I may have seen that in the DFW area a time or two.

yeah, though my mom got pulled over for going 5 under in the far left lane, they weren't anywhere near giving her a ticket... that's a warning at most tbh.

or if its a single lane road... if the guy in front is comfortably cruising right at the speed limit, and there's like 7-8 cars all right up his ass, he should just pull over for 8 seconds, let all those guys pass through, and then continue at his comfortable pace
