Back in the day, Bennigans was the shit. The one in Central Park Mall's corpse's parking lot. Used to have fiddy cent beer specials on Wednesdays and $1 pints of top shelf brew on Thursdays. Going out and getting wasted on $10 is a win for anyone, tbh.

I like the babcock social club. Good food, sexy waitresses, good TVs, but u cant play music they have their own music. For a dive bar thats clean with hot bartenders would be Omallys. The tv’s are small but u can play music. Little Woodrows is a great place to watch a playoff game but take ur bankruptcy attorney drinks are expensive. If ur by the airport Rookies Too. The best one in the medical center area is probably Wurzbach Ice House. Food, touchtunes, nice TVs and a bunch of hot chicks.

Ya'll got any favorites? Any hidden gems? :lol I highly recommend these places, let me know what you think if you go tbh.. Both have great service.
Halftime Pizza on either Bandera or Tezel - Straight fire.. Their pizza rolls and wings are great, and they serve like 12 craft beers and some domestics on draft. You have to get a few pizza rolls and an order of lemon pepper buffalo wings.. Huge projector screens and a bunch of TV's for all your games.. Definitely a hidden gem
Cover 3 on 1604 - They have a modern menu with some unique choices, and everything I've had there is always cooked perfectly and tastes great. They also have some damn good wings, and their house bleu cheese is up there w/ Wingstop's IMO. Their beer selection isn't the best, but then again I only drink IPA's.

Mannnn.. Bennigans was the SHIT back then.. 25 cent wings and dollar beers FTW. :lol they put themselves out of business, as did Tom's Ribs

Didn't the owner of some spot downtown buy that place and change the name? Is it the same shit it was before just rebranded or nah?

SA is one of the cheapest/best value places to eat and drink in the USA, as long as you stay away from the north side and downtown.

I never tried it tbh, because wing prices were so cheap at the time we never ordered anything else there :lol

Yeah, they're clearly very well managed. The consistency from them is spot on, and all the servers are competent. The TV setup, amount of space, outside area, and the fact that they're never super packed with people are all great too.
Big pizza fan so I'll definitely have to give Halftime Pizza a shot. :tu
Tbh, the pizza rolls are where it's at. They're huge and only a dollar each during happy hour.. The pizza tastes great, but I prefer to order items on menus that you can't get elsewhere.. in Halftime's case I've never found a place that offers pizza rolls like that and the lemon pepper buffalo mixture on their wings is fucking brilliance. It's the perfect mix of flavors for a wing sauce IMO.

Surprised nobody mentioned Freetail on 1604. Besides the badass beer they have some good fucking pizza. Interesting choices like artichoke, asparagus, anchovies, etc. Vibe is super chill they even let you bring your dogs. I like going Tuesdays when you get a pint for two bucks (looking at your cheap ass, Andy).

It's probably not a bad thing it's not more convenient I'm guessing it's 2 days worth of calories.. I remember reading an article on Bennigans and how fat you had to be to order that sandwich :lol

I"m sure with french fries, it'd be a couple thousand calories. Probably several days worth of carbs. Not to mention the trans fat. But it was excellent.

There used to be a food truck in Austin called “Are you gonna eat or what” that had the best Monte Cristo I’ve ever had. That shit was on point

Amazingly enough, I had the opportunity to go to Cheddars on Saturday and I did have the Monte Cristo. And it was very good.
However, after 2 pieces (and being pretty full), I made the mistake of starting to eat a third one. Then once that was gone, I figured I didn't want to just take one piece home.
So I ate that one as well. Then I felt pretty gross. This is probably a once every few months sandwich for me.

The jelly really makes it, tbh. The Bennigans I went to was serving it with a homemade, hot blackberry jam...I'm pretty sure they didn't do that at my Bennigans back home.

Cheddar's food in general is delicious but it always gives me the stomach cramps. Ate there a lot with family in 2013. The first time in OKC Norman (passing thru up I-35) and several times at the SA location by 410 and 151 later that spring and summer. I really liked their chicken tenders, mozz sticks, steak fingers, fried mushrooms, fries, everything was good there except for those "stromboli bites"... which were basically lightly encrusted blobs of spaghetti... hope they're not on the menu anymore, they sucked.
Haven't eaten at a Cheddar's since early August 2013, but had some good memories, it was one of my grandmother's favorites at that point.

An air fryer is PERFECT for people who like fried food but don't want all the nastiness. We've done the Ninja, the Kitchen Aid and the Instant Pot, all of which are great kitchen appliances, but this thing is just tits.
Done air fried fish and chicken in that thing and it was delicious and no feeling of nausea or bloating or lethargy that you get from deep fried shit. Even did a fried Twinkie in that ho and it was pretty dang good.

Yeah, the concept is common sense.. but the weird part is I have always ordered for a group of 4-5, and it still makes me sick even though I don't eat very much of it..
I read that the absolute worst food in any restaurant as far as nutritional value is Outbacks bacon cheddar fries

That's how I was. I had the powdered sugar the first time and didn't have it for a few years when I'd have one. Then tried it with the sugar and jelly one Spurs game when I was ultra wasted....so damn good. The jelly angle didn't work when I tried a PBnJ burger at the local brew house a few years ago.

Bennigans was always the spot on a Wednesday or Thursday after work to hangout with friends / coworkers and shoot the shit. It was just a good starting spot that had all the fun elements. From the elevated squared bar to the tall booths to the dart boards and golf game. Not mention the drink specials. It was my go to spot to hang for an hour or two then venture elsewhere. But inevitably someone always raves about the monte crispy and that other gross sandwich where it came soggy as hell and was dipped in au jus. That shit looked gross as hell. :lol.
