"The Gospel of Mark"

A short story by Dale Robinson

The boy had waited his father's return from an undercover assignment requested by the President of the United States. No word had come in weeks turned months. The North Fork Marshal had tried unsuccessfully to comfort and counsel the boy.

He was sweeping out their ranch house when his pa appeared on the horizon.
