I may be biased but I found myself arguing with people that I've never seen a player have a more dominant season and end it with a championship like Tim did in 03. Look at that team it consisted of young playersyetb to peek or old fucks past their primes. For Tim to carry that team to the chip was way more impressive than that shitty title that LeBron won in 16.

The expression Beast Mode was invented to explain 2001-2002 2002-2003 TD.

I think you DO have a point. Lebron wasn't even the MVP during the 2016 season. Curry won unanimously. Other than Jordan, the only one I saw as a contender to claim this post is Shaq during 99-00.

Duncan led the team in PPG, RPG, BPG, FG%, FTM, ORtg, DRtg, BPM, VORP, and was also 2nd in APG. Incredible.

Indeed.

Bonus: I got to meet Timmy during that season when he visited my school. I was in 8th grade, and I was one of 10 kids to win the "Tim Duncan character champion" contest. He signed a t-shirt and a trading card for me. :)

Maybe best playoffs run ever. Between 02-03 Duncan and 93-94 Olajuwon in my book.

On the defensive end in the finals has there ever been a more dominant player? Does Olajuwon or someone have a case?

Olajuwon, definitely. He had 4 blocks per game and held Ewing to 18.9 points on 36.3% shooting

Ben Wallace in 04 maybe?

Nate MacMillan in 93 shut Jordan down most the time, did he not?

Bruce Bowen did some work in 05 and 07.

Kawhi was certainly great at times in 14.

Timmy should have won the MVP in the '98-'99 season to be honest, but the league per the norm gave it to a more established player in Karl Malone.

One of the top if not the best individual season of all time. I've never seen a player dominate all facets of the game night in and night out like Tim that year. He would shut down the paint on one end of the floor and hit a turnaround fadeaway along the baseline to win the game on the other end. MVP, FMVP, ring, ending the 3peat Lakers, and a near quad double in a close out finals game? Stuff of legends tbh

Great video that breaks down Duncan's '03 season.

03 Duncan sent the two-of-last three champion Lakers out of the Forum on a 28 point loss. And then he went on to match the Lakers with two rings in five years.

Am I misreading you, or did you botch some basic facts?

The Forum was closed in '99 (after a Spurs sweep).

The Lakers won 3 in a row (you said 2 of 3).

Duncan won 3 in 5 years (you said 2 in 5).

Fun fact. Kawhi was way better guarding LeBron in the 2013 Finals than the 2014 Finals. LeBron got his in 2014.

It was 99? My bad.

I don't count 02 for the Lakers. That's the Kings' ring.

I did say Duncan won 2 in 5.

Don't know about that, tbh.
