Another Spur working on his threes. Did anyone see confirmation DeRozan was working on threes too?

Good to see he is working on his shooting. I don't know why it required commenting on further.

"Brynn is the only Spur to have the green light - Lonnie needs at least two more years in Austin to gain the appropriate level of culture."

Dwight Howard was a 90% FT shooter in practice :lol That kid in the op is a scrub.

Ugh! That form needs work. Still bringing the ball down too low for NBA standards.

From the same spot with his feet set each time; but encouraging sign nonetheless.

If Demar didn’t improve in 3, Lonnie can replace him imo and create a better flow. 3 guards offense.

I think a lot of okay rec league ballers can make thirteen threes in a row. Again, when he starts making it in-game, we'll take it seriously.

There's a good chance Lonnie Walker will become a decent 3 point shooter, probably better than Murray. DeRozan will never be a good 3 point shooter imo he just doesn't have that ranger.

It's a lot harder in a game than an empty gym.

I always felt the opposite tbh. You have time to think and be distracted in practice while in the game your head is clear and you just shoot. That’s why Dwight and Shaq sucked so much at free throws. They had 15 seconds of just thinking about them sucking on national tv while when you shoot a catch and shoot 3 there’s almost no thought to it and all instinct.

I'm apt to agree. DeMar's shot has too much wrist and flick...great for midrange, but not ideal from three.

Tbh I hit 13 3's from that range in a open gym before.

Good for you. Now go make an NBA roster.

Obviously we want this to translate to a game, but can't some of you just be happy that he is obviously working on something he needs to be working on?

FFS, people around here just like to bitch for no reason.

99% of this forum couldn't hit 10 nba 3s in a row in an open gym if they had all day and night. Glad the kid is working on his game

Indeed, Spurstalk has some outstanding internet three point shooters.

? We can tell you don't know how to shoot a basketball. That's a dip. It's to create rhythm and fluidity with his shot. Almost all great shooters do this

You can also get in a flow state in practice. The combination of 1) a defender who is *intensely* guarding you (because his team's success depends on it) and 2) the pressure of thousands of fans watching you makes it a completely different task.

No. He wasn't leaning at a 45 degree angle with one hand on his Johnson when he lets it fly.

Those shots do not translate into NBA game shots per se. Actually he'll never be able to to take that shot.

But what is really good is the right arm softness, the nice finger work (instead of all-wrist like many poor shooters). I am not a big fan of LW but this makes me thinking the guy is actually coachable, maybe he will move from being just an athlete, into a good NBA player.

Some of you "fans" are too critical. He is a young guy working on his game, which is something coaches and fans should want to see. He is developing his range and rhythm, and a form that feels comfortable for him to be successful. I would rather see a 20 year old work on threes , rather than a one dimensional 30 year old mid-ranger wait to begin to work on his game in a coming contract option year.
Good for you Lonnie ...keep at it, Spurs need you to develop into a Superstar sooner rather than later.
