The guy ended up siding with Robby, cuz well he's better. No shit sherlock. But, daaaaamn, guy was trying hard to make an article out of nothing. Any bball fan knows there is no comparison. Ewing was slow, meticulous, but slow compared to robby. Ewing was a true big man. Robby was some other hybrid of a sprinter combined with a 7'1 body. Still say 50 prime is one of the best to ever do it.

How quickly the world forgets the legendary 71 point game...

None of them like to talk about what 50 did to opposing centers his first few years in the league, shaq included.

How was Ewing outclassed less so than Robinson in their two playoff meetings with Olajuwon? Robinson's 1995 WCF numbers dipped to 24 and 11 on 45% shooting, but Ewing had a horrific 94 Finals: 19 and 12 on 36% shooting. Unbelievable how Ewing played a complete trash series but the media still wants to blame the loss on one really bad game from Starks.

People forget Robinson started his NBA career at the age of 24 due to military/naval commitments. Give him at least one more year (starting at age 23) and he crushes Ewing's stats with ease.

Well for one the NBA refuses to release their back catalogue outside of some random NBATV games. The only footage we have seen is some under the basket camera from channel 4. Apparently the in house cameras recorded the whole game but again the NBA refuses to release it.

Neither of them ever won shit as the best player on the team. I still give David the nod.

The 71 point game was manufactured by Pop to get David the scoring title. The quad double was impressive, but let's not get caught up in that. If you say Ewing wasn't shit, then you have to say David had no real competition.

Yahoo is complete trash..horrible articles and writing in general...although I do love to read the comments on really dumb articles now and then.

Pop wasn’t even the coach.

Both had equally shitty supporting casts tbh but what separated the two was Ewing had an all time great coach while DRob had like 6 coaches in his first 5 years in the league. Hard for any player to win with that kind of turnover. Also DRob had the cheapest owner in the League. Red and Sterling were neck and neck for worst owners. Imagine literally choosing a coach solely based on the fact that Red could pay him the lowest salary in the league. Not on actual merit. He also nixed a Barkley trade bc he didn’t want to pay him. People forget how shitty the owners of the Spurs was before Holt came along

Ewing was the LMA of his day. Big and plodding, good to clog up the paint and get some buckets with the jump hook and fadeaways. In 90s ball that was the building block, before b-ball turned into 100% :monkey ball. Dump it into the post and slash/spot up for jumpers. But the gravity of a good big man opened up the shooters, and no metrics said a 24’ 3 pointer was more efficient than dunking on a bitch

50 way better in the end. I do remember Ewing giving the Spurs trouble when they played. Damn.....Long ass time ago.

Oh yeah John Lucas... That explains it for sure. Not like Pop to allow a player to get any sunshine.

David's best supporting cast, pre-Tim, was probably his rookie season.

A young, prime Robinson would be scary in today's NBA.

Robinson, for me, is the prime example of why specific context matters most and ring counting can be arbitrary or meaningless. If Duncan doesn't come along, Robinson almost certainly finishes his career without rings. His abilities as a player (especially in his prime with a mediocre cast of teammates) wouldn't be any different, but critics could use the "never won a ring" argument against him.
