After signing a deal with Italian team Pesaro, former San Antonio Spurs (and Austin Spurs) player, DeJuan Blair, has been suspended by FIBA for violation of their anti-doping rules.


According to the FIBA website, Blair has been suspended for two years for use of oxymorphone-oxycodone.


Hope he paid off that jewelry debt.

Not sure why pain killers that can be prescribed by a doctor are banned. Not like they make him bulk up like LeBron or something

the man has no acls in either leg & he still outboards entire teams...........the man had 3 30/20 games in the nba for fooks sake............show him some respect............he bangs down low vs 7 foot 280+ pounders every game............he needed the pain medicine for carrying teams...........he has led 3 teams to ships in his career..........

It has to be bothering him a lot after all these years. I don't know how he ever played in the NBA with those knees. I'd bet he was using the painkillers to extend his career, both for whatever money he could still earn and to keep playing the game he loves. Sorry to see him go out this way.

I wonder if he was paid. Surely a large percentage of his pay was advanced. It would be horrible living out the country and your money frozen.
