View Full Version : NBA: The '92 Jordan Dream Team would have shat all over the LeBroom Redeem Team

Time to put these theories to bed that the Redeem Team was on par with the OGs.

Just look at Magic's ridiculous Jason Kidd-like abilities at 6'8", yes better passer than LeBron. Barkley's ridiculous moves as a 6'4" C. Prime Jordan, Drexler the original Westbrook, Prime DRob, Prime Ewing, Prime Pippen would have smothered LeBroom super easily. Only player on the Redeem Team that would have gotten to his spots is Wade. Everyone else like Spot Up Melo (Olympic Melo) would have been shut down by these guys while they ran them out of the gym the other way.

The only way I can see these guys ever going down in defeat was if you made a team of all elite shooters and played Rockettes ball against them. Then perhaps you could exploit their only weakness, which was outside shooting. A roster like the following would probably give them fits with all the long bombing:

KD
Curry
Klay
Iggy
Harden

bench

Westbrook
Porzingod
Doncic
Davis Bertans

Neo.

The Dream Team is the only team that the average fan will name everyone on it. Any other team, a person will struggle to name half the team.

Ya that Dream Team faced some really stiff competition.

It doesn't even matter what the competition was. Just look at the rosters. 92 was far superior.

Prime
Shaq
Timmy Duncan
Garnett
Al Iverson
Nash
etc

Bench
Kobme (who stunningly accepted a role player position with great D and no chucking in 2008)
Jermain O'neal

I'll play the Dreamers with a roster like this.

Lebron would be cut from the 1992 team

Redeem Team would have lost to Spain if not for Kobe taking over at the end. LeBron/Wade/etc were petrified.

Many mediocre shooters against a strong defensive team like '92 is a poor strategy

I don't seem to see huge debate out there over this one, tbh. Most knowledgeable basketball fans will say that the '92 Dream Team was the greatest basketball team ever assembled.

Doncic is also a superior passer

Was only a partial list.
Ray Allen.
Vince Carter.
Sure there are more.

Timmy Duncs, Shaq and Garnett are going to own the rebounds.
That cunt the Mailman will have his shit pushed in.

Nash is Canadian though.
Canada allows dual citizenship.
But after playing for them in the 99 Worlds probably no way he'd convert to U.S.

Altho he did identify as Laker his last years.
He did us a real solid with that one.

Laettner would be draining 17 footers over these midgets all day in addition to dominating in the post. 25 ppg, tbh.

Shaq, Duncan and KG would bounce pass the balls off Dream Teamers heads in a game of ping pong on the court.

Shaq clogs the lane. Not sure that is to your advantage. KG just encourages MJ with his mouth.

MJ wasn’t acting so tough until Stern started to protect him

It’s easy to talk trash when you know the refs will back you up

Defensively it's a huge advantage. Ewing and Robinson are not going out by the arc and hoisting treys.

True story: Attending the Spurs @ Lakers game in 2004 out of the timeout it looked like WTF the Spurs only have 4 players on the court. Shaq completely eclipsed 6'7" 250 Malik Rose. :rollin

Along with facing Angola plumbers.
Wait, did Angola have indoor plumbing?

Meh the dream team wins only bc of their bigs. It would’ve been fun to see Pippen on James and Mike on Kobe for sure. JKidd and Magic were about equal at the time of their career when they were on the team. But nobody on the redeem team will check Barkley, Robinson, Malone, and Ewing.

But could Dream Team beat the 2008 college select team in a scrimmage?
