I also saw someone saying he was in a dark place mentally while trying to rehab from this recent injury. Probably just done with the whole thing and decided he'd go out on his terms.

Problem is, Vikings would still be responsible for his salary since it's fully guaranteed.

This is Jerry Jones' chance to make a BIG ballsy move and I hope he capitalizes. Colts are desperate for a QB, and the Cowboys have one, we know he's average but he sure beats the hell out of "can't score as a Patriot at home against the shitty Bills" Brissett, this is the Cowboys' chance to set ourselves up for a HUGE dynasty with trading Prescott for a 1st right now

This is Teddy Bridgewater '16 injury moment, on steroids

Not in 2019 but ....2019 is just one year.

If Zeke is also traded for a 1st we have likely 3 picks in the top 15, including at least 1 in the top five at minimum in 2020. Rush and White aren't good, but with our top 3 defense, we can still probably squeeze out a couple wins on the season. And then we draft our QB of the future, a top 5 QB for the next 15+ years. Dynasty!

The Colts are such a trash franchise. This is all on them for giving Luck nothing but scrubs to carry his whole career.

This just further proves that Struggle would have been out of the league after 2-3 years if the Colts had drafted him.

The timing is weird though, this is the first year he’s going in with an offensive line that’s considered good (last year it played well but was a question mark headed into the season). I’d understand it more if it was the same trash offensive they had with the prior GM and he didn’t want another year of running for his life. Those first 4 years or so with a shit offensive line probably wore his body down more than anyone realized, however he’s also never been as good at protecting himself the way other elite QBs are.

What are you talking about?

Cam is going to be fine.

https://sports.yahoo.com/cam-newton-out-of-walking-boot-200135011.html

Cam Newton’s mid-foot sprain doesn’t seem likely to keep him out for much longer.
The Carolina Panthers’ star quarterback was seen at team facilities on Sunday without a walking boot that he had been wearing since leaving Thursday’s preseason game. (https://sports.yahoo.com/nfl-preseason-blitz-cam-newton-injured-which-is-why-teams-dont-play-starters-005030917.html)
Head coach Ron Rivera had a simple message for what the removal of the boot tells the team: “It means he’s progressing.” (https://twitter.com/JourdanRodrigue/status/1165663472706867205)
“So far, so good,” Rivera added, via NFL.com (http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001044295/article/rivera-newton-progressing-after-shedding-boot?campaign=Twitter_atn). “Every day he progresses. Every day it’s been positive. Each day it's about how he feels when he gets up, and so far it was good this morning and we'll continue (rehab).”
The Panthers were “cautiously optimistic” (https://sports.yahoo.com/panthers-gm-marty-hurney-cautiously-optimistic-cam-newton-will-be-ready-for-week-1-155024231.html) that Newton would be ready to compete in Week 1 against the Los Angeles Rams, and this next step makes his return feel all the more close.

then again, does this count against the salary cap? Probably doesn't matter since the Colts will be back to rebuilding. They'll probably keep their youngest good players like Nelson and Leonard, but fire sale guys later in their prime like Castonzo, Sheard, Hilton, etc.

It's probably not so classy, though. It keeps the door open for him to come back next season; and he may have delayed his retirement while all those tickets and merchandise were being sold.

Hindsight I would have loved for Manning to stay a Colt for the remainder of his career. However you're retarded if you think Manning could have made a Superbowl with thise trash ass rosters the Colts had from 2012-2016.

With Mannings salary on the books Ryan Grigson wouldnt have even been able to over spend on those shitty free agents ie Andre Johnson, Gosder Cherilus, Laron Landry etc. Add in Grigsons shitty drafting an inability to fix the oline and Peyton has 4 more neck surgeries.

I agree, but I would like the Cowboys to get Lawrence, so maybe Jacoby will win them just enough games to not get the #1 overall pick either of the next two years.

I'm a right wing leaning guy but I think this NFL shaming trend from the right is stupid. Who gives a fuck? There are both sides on each team. There are all 4 flavors... far left (Kaepernick, Reid), ambivalent center-left (Malcolm Jenkins), ambivalent center-right (Brady) and far right (Bosa's). Plus the hundreds of players that don't affiliate. Honestly, can't we all just shut up and watch the game?
