40 year old schooling the MVP runner up. :lol

Also, lol at bringing Laprovittola over to the NBA, but not Campazzo. :lol

Also also, Garino >>>> Cunningham, Pondexter and all the shit we've tried at SF the last few years.

Interesting how well the older guys can play when they're allowed to play physical. The new NBA rules have turned the league into a young man's game. None of the old guys in the World Cup could sniff an NBA roster, yet a lot of them are dominating when the rules actually allow them to play. Good for Scola. That's pretty cool. :tu

Massive game by the Argies.
Scola thread indeed.
Laprovittola with a manuesque cano at the end.
What a joy it is to watch good old physical TEAM baskeball at the FIBA world cup.
The FRA-AUS yesterday, ARG-SRB today.

Hmmm... what if Scola would have played for the Spurs... could it have changed the dynamic of their winning & championships? Oh well... :)

Considering the crap the Spurs had platooning the post next to Duncan, yes, I think another championship would have been won.

Garino has been damn good, tbh. Spurs could have kept him around a little longer instead of signing old fucks like Cunningham and Pondexter, imho.

He was the defacto defensive stopper of Argentina's Golden Generation. Seeing how succesful that team was, he couldn't be that bad. Although defense does comes easier in FIBA.

That's a very good point and why the league has lost its appeal.

Campazzo was possibly an NBA caliber but on a very short body, he had no chance really. And I always loved him, but you can't play in the NBA if you are short and can't jump.
Basketball IQwise, an All-Star.

Argentina recently had some outstanding playmakers, if one thinks about it -Pepe Sanchez, Prigioni, Montecchia, Campazzo, all with inferior bodies but very clever players.

But the best tournament player, IMO of course, is Satoransky. He really carries the team on his shoulders all by himself (the others suck). And doesn't even need to shoot that much.

JJ Barea says hi.

Also, Campazzo got hops:

Yeah, that ended in a block.

In previous years, I could understand the size argument. Now, he got to a point where his size can't be used as excuse to ignore his skill level.

Campazzo is arguably the best PG in Europe right now. One of the best PG's in the World. Most NBA teams don't have two PG's better than him. He deserves a place in the NBA, problem is he is too expensive now.

Campazzo is more than an inch shorter than JJ.
There is only one player shorter than Campazzo in the NBA, Tyler Ulis who has a vertical leap of 33" which is 'ONLY' 5 inches MORE than the average NBA player...
There was IT but on a different role.
I'd love for him to play in the NBA as a recognition of his quality, as I said I love him, but he really cannot take the court in 'modern" NBA, he would be eaten alive on the defensive end.

Go in there and play Manu.
You owe us one from 2002!
(One year into retirement Manu would be better than the one legged Manu that tried to play injured in that World Cup final 17 years ago)
(Also for anyone that can relate,Fuck Pitsilkas)

He basically admits of making the wrong call and gifting the World Cup to Serbia but says he didn't see the last play clearly and he didn't want to favor Serbia on purpose,it just happened and if he had Manu in front of him he'd tell him he called what he saw without prejudice)

Sorry but you really don't know what you are talking about. I can name dozens of players shorter than Campazzo who played in the NBA and were successful. No point in arguing with you, though. If you believe Campazzo can't be successful in the NBA then you probably must know more than Real Madrid that saw this coming and gave him the money to stay. But it's your opinion.

Name them, let's have a laugh.

He himself admitted he was obsessed with NBA -but according to you he chose to extend with Real for money.
So DeColo, Shved and the others with higher salary than him could go the NBA but chose money? I have an arena in Rome to sell you for a great price, it is a bargain...
