GM and Rivera are fine. they have assembled a solid roster overall. good receivers, great running back, strong defense. and for a while Cam was a high end qb because of his unique and all time athletic traits.

they just need to move on from cam. the problem is its hard to have a rapid transition at QB, so by the time the new guy, whoever it is, gets comfortable, a lot of these pieces will be gone. they should have drafted a qb last year, or much earlier this year, tbh

Putting him in the game down 35 in the fourth quarter isn’t helping. Defense knows they’re going to throw aggressively and just plays for that with heavy blitzing or heavy prevent. You aren’t getting a real taste of managing a game when you can run the ball, afford to play for field position, etc. crowd is out of the game

yeah. carr has a lot of fault in this game as the offense went into a shell after their 10-0 lead, but both those INT's were squarely on the receivers imo.

the offense just lacks any punch with no decent WR outside of Tyrell Williams. renfrow/grant aren't going to be impact players at all. jj nelson had a good camp and could in theory help out, but he's already injured.

but if the defense wasn't busy giving up so many 3rd and 15+ conversions, we could have stuck with the run game which was doing decent early on (stats inflated by one big 50 yard run). going through a full offseason installing a playbook where AB was going to be the feature of the offense just really fucked this team tbh

I always thought Jones was a 2nd tier QB anyway. He's the type that will start for some X number of years and ultimately be a backup in his 30s.

I'm still not sure if it's Dak's work ethic over the summer, or Kellen Moore's 48-0 Boise State playbook at this point why the offense is fabulous this year... and we're only 2 games in, and yes we'll probably score 40 this Sunday because it's the Dolphins, but if we can score around 30 in Chicago in December then that's how I'll know the offense is ready to win a SB this year.

I think Carr is the same guy by the way... will likely be a backup in his 30s.


All of that said... I would still sign Dak to a 10y/$300 Million contract, $150M guaranteed, today if I'm the GM. I think that'd be a win win.

Carr is a starter for now and possibly next year. I think he's a solidly average QB, nothing special nothing worse. But the Raiders have bigger needs especially on defense and OL. I don't think Kolton Miller is elite. I'm saying Carr will be a backup in his 30s.
