But no, I think Murray lasts a lot longer that Minshew.

were just happy to have someone to root for. Minshew is a pleasant surprised in what we thought would be a lost season when Foles went down. I like Foles a lot and I think when he’s healthy he takes the team back. But Minshew is fun to watch and you can’t help but notice his accuracy. That accuracy is really something Jags fans have not seen. He’s throwing receivers open and his placement and timing are above average. He went from getting sacked 3 times in Houston to zero sacks vs Tennessee. By the way his pocket presence improved when the game was on the line in Houston. Minshew has something that we haven’t seen as Jags fans. We know shitty quarterbacks. Minshew is a prospect. He has to work on his short bubble passes but other than I really don’t have any complaints about a 6th round rookie.

Minshew > Baker

RGMCSE

Minshew > Baker

Baker has the arm but he may not have that savvy moxie that the stache has. Minshew absolutely has a presence and reads the field and defense well. If Minshew had the wr talent baker has that would be something.

Thats the one problem. I see your shitty receivers dropping a lot of catchable balls from him. Only Chark is worth keeping IMO. You also need a reliable TE

Cant even argue with you so Westbrook has underperformed and there no damn reason to be dropping wide open td passes. It’s not like it was one of Bortles wobbly duck passes.

Enough with this Dak. Dak is a (much) less athletic Cam Newton. Can run a little, pass a little, better than your basic game manager but not elite by any stretch, and not talented enough to win a game by himself.

Dak is a great comparison tbh. Late rounder who isn’t asked to carry an offense and has an elite running game with a better than average defense. You can stay in a lot of games as long as he doesn’t turn the ball over, which Minshew doesn’t.

I don’t know how much better he will become but Jared Gofful just got paid 110 mil guaranteed so anything can happen tbh

Yeah he gave the game away with the fumbles but at the same time almost brought them back. He needs to clean up the fumbles but I think that is fixable. Unlike Blake Bortles pick six problem and his non defense reading ass. Minshew looks like a legit passer.

AZ's oline has been among the worst in the NFL for a long time now. It's a position they just neglect for some reason. That organization likes fast skill players and defense. Palmer's career, cut short by chronic injuries because he was never protected there and that ultra-vertical Arians offense didn't help.

I was never high on Minshew. He's 6th round talent and he'll have a solid NFL career as a backup, solid enough fill-in for injured starters. Jags definitely don't have their QB of the future, though. None of the Florida teams do.

Bortles was a raw old school statue like Wentz/Trubisky etc. Total coin flip. One end you get Trubisky (Captain Checkdown), the other end you get Wentz who is one injury away from losing all those physical advantages.

Minshew is a fuckin stud like Mahomes (not the same arm but can sling it with touch) who ran the same type of college offense Mahomes ran at Tech. He's the prototypical new era shootout QB. Unless you want to :monkey ball it and go Lamar Jackson/Dak/Cam Newton style

Minshew's ceiling is Favre/Brees and floor is Doug Flutie.

I’m not sure where you got that from bro. I was against drafting him to begin with. He’s left handed but throws righty. You’ve got to be fucking kidding me. I applauded him when he cut down the turnovers and stayed within the offense in 2017 for the AFC champ run. But I always new bortles wasn’t a franchise qb. Dude couldn’t read defenses and lead his receivers open. He would constantly fuck up routine pass plays like a 5 yard slant by throwing behind the recover and getting it picked off. I was happy the Jags finally moved away from him and now have two capable accurate passers.

Better arm than Lamar Jackson
More accurate than Josh Allen
More competitive than Kirk Cousins
Better college numbers than pretty much all of the playoff starters sans Watson, Mahomes

Most better starters were random finds. Look at Tannehill for instance. Doing decently, random dude. All of the big name school QBs tend to suck ass in NFL (Mayfield, Josh Rosen, etc). Tua, if he comes out, will suck, just like other big names Mariota, Joey Harrington, etc. only one I can think of that is decent from a big name school is Stafford

tannehill was a first round pick because he was productive while still being incredibly raw (had only started 19 games at QB in college after changing positions)... he had good mobility, size, solid arm/accuracy and was seen to have a lot of room to grow given his lack of experience.

Fitzypat is very different. He's a 5 star backup who doesn't last long because he gets figured out and is easy to exploit due to his ill advised throws downfield/over the middle (like Jameis Winston). He's like a flamethrower pitcher in baseball who's good the first few innings but then gets crushed when hitters figure him out. Guys usually rally behind Fitzy because he comes in after shitty game manager/silver spooner 1st string QBs shit the bed, but that doesn't change who he is, a break glass only in emergencies QB. Minshew is also smaller than Fitzy I believe, and more mobile/less of a pure pocket passer. Fitzy is an old school statue by comparison.

Holden_Caulfield

kyler taking a slight lead due to him being electric on an open field. also helps to have Nuk. Arizona looks good and in a probably the best division in the NFL. Jags dont seem to be a pushover and will definitely battle for a playoff spot since their upcoming schedule is pretty soft. next 6 weeks are MIA, Cincy, Houston, Detroit, Chargers then Houston again. All winnable games and could go 4-2 or maybe even 5-1. back end of the schedule is brutal they have Packers, Steelers, Titans, Vikings (lol) and Ravens. theyll most likely miss the playoffs at 6-10 or 7-9. but the homer in me thinks theyll go 10-6 and get the first ever #7 seed lol

I'm a huge fan of Gardner. I love him at Wazzu since I am a Leach fan. He just brings calm and a sense that the game is going to be ok when he's on the field. Not every QB has that trait. I rather have him than Jimmy G tbh.

But all the national media shit on Kliff and said he didn't deserve the job and now that he's 2-0 and beat the reigning NFC champs, they are very quiet on his lack of coaching ability. All the praise goes to D-Hop and Kyler, and they deserve it, but you never hear Kliff's name is my point.

D Hops, Kenyan Drake on offense, and Budda Baker on defense have put that team in contention. 49ers injuries definitely helps too. The HC just didnt fuck it up as all.

let it go

i swear these people are going to become the new Vince Young truthers

6th round talent is 6th round talent for a reason... for every Brady there are a few dozen Minshews. Jags need to draft a QB or trade the farm for Prescott next spring.

A lot of people don’t realize that Murray is in the Air Raid, stat pad offense. Murray is still ahead. Closer than ppl lead on

Kyler has a much better team. Much better in every way. Coaching, front office/ownership, more offensive weapons, probably better o-line, defense, special teams. It's understandable if Kyler comes out with more wins. It may end up being like the who's better, Dan Marino or some dude who got wins on a stacked team like Trent Dilfer, etc. Or in NBA parlance, who's better, Kenny Smith because he has 2 rings or Charles Barkley with his MVP, gold medal and 0 rings. One had a better team but the other was the better player

And before semantics people say it, no, I'm not comparing him to Dan Marino or saying he's the Charles Barkley of the NFL. Just using them as comparisons of guys on worse teams with more skills than guys who performed adequately on stacked teams.

Which leads me to believe. Maybe Detroit and Matt Patricia have something this year. Yes they started 0-2 but they were elite division rivals and they had double digit leads in both. There's a reason I always keep Stafford near the bottom of my top 10 QB rankings, but not lower. When he's healthy, he's one of the most talented throwers in the sport, raw-talent wise on par with Aaron Rodgers, and there's no substitute for sheer talent.

Stafford's a beast. Would love for him to be on any of the teams I like (9ers, Cards, even the Boys). He's a gunslinger, tough, competitive, unafraid. Like a 2020 Favre

This is part of the reason why people think Kyler is better. Because he gets good fantasy stats and rushing touchdowns. But as a leader and in general QB play, Minshew is superior. Especially if you consider the delta in teams they play for.

2-0 and rising. They play shitty Detroit on Sunday. :smokin

Whoops, Superstar Kyl:lolie now on a 2 game losing streak (at home vs. Detroit :rollin and today at Carolina who has no CMC and Teddy Pendergrass at QB :lol). 133 yard passing for the beloved 2nd baseman today. Meanwhile (even in a loss, where his defense gave up 33 to the fucking Bengals...

Gardner Minshew 27/40 351YDS 2TDs

the first week with a decent WR back

D.J. Chark 8/9 95YDS 2TD

DeAndre Hopkins 7/9 41YDS 0TD

Murray targeted the best receiver in the league only 3 times for like 30 yards. And lost, all trying to get 100 yards rushing. As a QB.

He was garbage before that one miraculous play. Constantly calling his own number instead of hitting wide open receivers. Which I admit he isn't that bad of a runner but he isnt a RB, his job is to hit his playmakers with dimes. Not take off every play.

Btw any QB with an arm could have gotten it down there to have DHops catch with his size 16 gloves. Flacco could have dropped one in too.

This just reinforces that he has a world class receiver that he needs to throw the ball to more often than 3 times a game like last week.
