2nd round guy, and the veteran retread usually always gets the first few games at least by default, which I don't like because that submarines the team's season in the guy's rookie year before he even has a chance. Trubisky a recent example; Rosen in Arizona, Darnold on the Jest, and their progress was stunted because of it. Baker Mayfield will be ok, but the Browns could have made the playoffs if they didn't closely lose the first 2 games.

I like what the 2012 Seahawks, Colts, Redskins and 2016 Cowboys did, even the 2016 Eagles even though they didn't make the playoffs that year. Throw the guy in there game 1, give him a legitimate chance to lead your team into the playoffs as a rookie and stake your claim as your team's franchise from the get-go.
