They were in such a run in both PL and Champions league last year. They had a period last year where son, lucas, ericksen all looked electric and was only a few points behind but they striggled last ten games.

What has happened between those great runs and now?

They look methodical and antiquated out there.

They're just Arsenal circa 2006. New stadium, lost in CL final, slow to reload and invest in squad, manager that overstaying his welcome and getting tuned out

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino says his team must "stick together" after the embarrassment of a 7-2 defeat by Bayern Munich.

This is surely a devastating blow for the team, it seems like they are throwing their dreams away and the competition just started.

Why was Eriksen on the bench?

Why was Eriksen on the bench?

He has not played well since his first game.

Tottenham is forced to go with Danny Rose who knows Spurs want rid of him. And Serge Aurier who is nuts (red carded last EPL game which Spurs somehow won. Foyth and Davies are injured. These were suppose to be the starters. Spurs are extraordinarily vulnerable wide and once players get past them (Rose&Aurier) Alderwereld and Vertonghen can’t handle pace. They are better at positioning and passing out of the back.

Son had an honest chance at 5 goals and scored 1. And those were early on and hugely important. Once Bayern tied Spurs Rose and Aurier had to push forward again and were completely destroyed. I don’t think Lloris could have made 1 save on those 7 goals. Utter destruction.

Bayern definitely had their shooting boots on and morale is really high since Coutinho joined. Lewandowski especially is clicking with him

Usually that is probably a 4-2 match

Eriksen asked to be in Spain this summer.
Overall his play has been listless.
Its tough on Ponch when half of your team was ready for a possible transfer in the summer and contracts expiring in some cases.

Eriksen, Rose, Aurier, Alderwereld, Vertonghen.

This has crept into EPL play as well.
Could be a very long season, top 4 in doubt.
Pencil in Liverpool and MC top 2 what do we have left.

Arsenal
Chelsea
Man U
Tottenham

Lets see who holds out. Chelsea is playing a very young team with Lampard but I sense a step in the + direction. They play very hard and are willing. They just are not very good, yet.

Arsenal still dynamic on attack. Defense gets a bit of a boost in speed (Bellerin is back from injury)but it’s still not good.

Man U. Rebuild stages. But not as + as Chelsea.

Son is one of the best players at Tottenham and is a very consistent performer, and losing the 27-year-old would be a massive blow for the North London outfit. Losing him will create a devastating impact on Spurs performance.

Actually Brighton got a new manager and play very positive football.
They legitimately crushed Spurs. When they play teams who play as brightly as they do they will get scored on.

Kane was out. He saw the ball about one time in front of the goal, he was left to play defense or left isolated, that’s how lopsided the game You never saw was. The lack of transfers and the unease so many players feel about this being their last half or year of football is showing. This was a team who played well with each other, the parts fit. Now... it’s just bad, from effort to actually being in the right place at the right time.

Probably the only reason the board needs to stay interested in this team is because I am. We thrive on others misery it appears. And you don’t watch the games so you might want to check in.
