I guess this week is just a dud to everyone. TNF is a surefire blowout, CBS not FOX has the doubleheader, relatively boring slate of games. No Cowboys game. The "featured" game on Sunday is Cleveland @ Patriots... 31-10 snooze fest. Sunday Night game ruined by no Mahomes. CAR @ SF could be interesting.

49ers 6-0
Seahawks 5-2
Rams 4-3

Packers 6-1
Vikings 6-2

Saints 6-1
Panthers 4-2

+ NFC East Winner

.... Two of the above 7 won't make the playoffs, while the NFC East winner and suckier AFC trash will.

Vikings should have had 30+ points if not for settling for a bunch of FGs in the red zone, the early Diggs fumble and the oddly failed QB sneak on 4th down.

If Houston can work the intermediate routes like they did against KC they should win. Fells and Duke Johnson should eat big this game matched up with Oakland's linebackers who are great against the run but can't cover for shit. Oakland doesn't rush the passer either, so Watson should have plenty of time behind that new and improved line. If Houston tries to force the run game they are asking for a loss...but it seems like BOB has finally left those days behind(hopefully).

Oakland can run the ball well with Jacobs but McKinney and Cunningham are two of the best run stopping linebackers in the league. They won't shut them down completely but Houston knows how to defend that zone run scheme and they will be ready for it. I'll take Houston by 10.

1) 2018-19 NFCCG 'nuff said
2) 2011... the Rams had 2 total wins all season, but one of them was against the 13-3 Saints, and that game made the difference between HFA and having to go to SF for the divisional round. Made all the difference in the end. Drew Brees' career year, wasted.

between that & Nugent being the kicker, the Pats have problems that will haunt them when they finally stop playing bottom feeder NFL teams.

also, they can't keep getting flukey lucky fumble 6's. they have to have more fumble 6's this year alone than most teams average in 5-10 years.

Then again Sanu has always been a "big slot" even dating back to his Bungles days when he played inside of Marvin Jones Jr. & AJ Green. He's not fast even though he's more of a jump ball guy than a pure slot that can win with quickness. He's just a possession receiver, like a really really low rent nerfed version of Michael Thomas. Or Jordan Matthews back in his Eagles days.

Crazy that Brandon Weeden & Jason Campbell made Josh Gordon into an all-pro but Pretty Boy Brady couldn't even make him an NFL caliber receiver.

The Browns may not look good now, but their schedule gets softer after this game. They get to play the Dolphins, they have the Bengals twice, they have the Steelers twice, they have the Broncos, Cardinals, the Bills, and the Ravens who they already beat. It's possible they could go on a run in the second half of the season. We'll see.

his run blocking is good but he's also given up like 1 sack in the last 2-3 years or some absurd stat like that. gruden has cleaned house with 90% of the roster since getting here, but he went ahead and gave hudson a big extension

centers rarely get credited for giving up sacks. rarely does the nose tackle win a 1 on 1 bull rush against a center for a sack, which is pretty much their only way of getting pressure from that position. generally that is a run position.

for example, the Cowboys' Joe Looney got credited for giving up 0 sacks last year, and he was the backup to Travis Frederick who was out last year with the nerve damage.

when it's an A-gap blitz up the middle, that doesn't count against the center for example

perhaps they lose to Carolina twice and at home against the 49ers. Other than that the schedule is cake. 2 games against shitlanta, lol... and 2 AFC trash.

Panthers wont beat us twice. They usually get a free win at the end of the season when the Saints are resting their starters.

Millennial_Messiah
10-27-2019, 05:20 PM
The Browns may not look good now, but their schedule gets softer after this game. They get to play the Dolphins, they have the Bengals twice, they have the Steelers twice, they have the Broncos, Cardinals, the Bills, and the Ravens who they already beat. It's possible they could go on a run in the second half of the season. We'll see.

I thought the same thing about the Browns. 2-5 looks bad but that schedule has been brutal.

If they win in Denver next week they're on the right track. I still think they go 8-8 at least.

defense has been mediocre for a while now, so not being able to stop watson is to be expected. but when the offense has a chance to take the game, you cant have your 10 mil/year WR make 2 drops on the last drive. we have over 2/3 of our cap spent on the O, they need to come up.

Lots of mistakes by both teams. Houston murdered themselves with penalties yet again. O'Brien again tried to force the run early and wasted downs but didn't abandon it all the way when the pass started opening it up. That run on 3rd down late in the game was pure effort by Hyde. I saw him about to go down in the backfield and I was ready to lose my shit for him calling that play. It wound up ok, but it was a dumb call.

Houston winning close games is still strange to me, but Watson gets it done. He's held the ball too long and made a few mistakes here and there but his brilliance overshadows it. He never lacks confidence. He knows he can win...and that's something Houston has never had.

Lots of mistakes by both teams. Houston murdered themselves with penalties yet again.
houston had 7 penalties for 50 yards, raiders had 11 for 100 :lol...

and felt like most of houston's came on the OL. the raiders had a majority of theirs on the defense extending drives (we did have one OPI and the holding call late). houston crushed it in the 2nd half in time of possession, the raiders only had 3 possessions that half.

O'Brien again tried to force the run early and wasted downs but didn't abandon it all the way when the pass started opening it up. That run on 3rd down late in the game was pure effort by Hyde. I saw him about to go down in the backfield and I was ready to lose my shit for him calling that play. It wound up ok, but it was a dumb call.
yeah it felt like the raiders were bottling up the run really well all game... but they got worn down in the 2nd half pretty bad. by the end of the game nobody was able to bring down hyde on first contact. that's another result of sticking with the run all game, gradually wearing the other side down. raiders run game was effective all game too... but its clear that jacobs was ailing, as they kept subbing him out. ultimately texans were able to stay on the field so long that the raiders D got worn down.

Houston winning close games is still strange to me, but Watson gets it done. He's held the ball too long and made a few mistakes here and there but his brilliance overshadows it. He never lacks confidence. He knows he can win...and that's something Houston has never had.
yeah, thats a great feeling. its how the raiders felt in 2016. carr had 7 game winning drives that season alone. watson definitely has that magic about him. the only time the raiders were able to stop him is when he was confined to the pocket. any time they ran a read-option or he broke contain, it was lights out.

ugly loss for us, a ton of mistakes, but hats off to watson for making every play, man. gg

Zadarius Smith needs to be fined and suspended by the league, seriously. There has to be a limit on number of phantom times you can lie down and act hurt and stop the flow of the ball game like that. I dont think they’re good enough where i can say with confidence that they’ll win all the games they’re “supposed” to win. But between Det/Chargers x2/Den/Jets/Bengals/Jax/titans they should end up with at least 8 wins.

They've won their last two on the road even though the Giants and Lions aren't good teams. They do a lot of things well and have a nice mixture of being physical and explosive. Tough matchup for anyone.
I don't deny they are a very well balanced team on offense and defense. They have a top 5 running game, 2 top 10 receivers and a top 10 defense. Main issues are the down the heart and core of the team... QB, coaching and kicking... a bad trifecta to have to overcome, along with their OL who are great run blockers but shaky in pass protection.

I just think the Saints, Seahawks and 49ers are the best teams and Vikings/Packers... who knows? Do either the Eagles or Cowboys even deserve to get in?

:lol Well, still a waste is what I'm saying. Dude could've been something.

yeah I'm honestly surprised he wasn't given more of a chance in his career, intriguing player...I wonder if it's just the stigma of being "undrafted".

Even when he played in the preseason with Dallas, he looked really good and then later won NFC Rookie of the Month for December when he was with Carolina. Whenever guys have gone down, there have been streaks of games where he played at a pro bowl level. The biggest head scratcher of it all, was that he never really backed up great quarterbacks for the majority of his career. Scrubs like post-Texans David Carr, Jimmy Clausen, and Ryan Tannehill were always given the nod over him

I like the decision by LaFleur not to burn the timeout there and just take the delay of game. Don't waste 3rd quarter Timeouts in a close game.

Millennial_Messiah
10-27-2019, 09:34 PM
& yet they burn the timeout anyway :lol

still, worth it I guess if you have Rodgers and it's a surefire TD

Next Sunday becomes an odd but real must-win for the Vikings. Can't lose to a mahomes-less Chiefs after your biggest rival just beat them in the same stadium. Plus you lose a game in the common-opponents (2nd) tiebreaker if h2h is even.

not to take away from watson's super human game winning TD play... but its pretty hard to balance the rules where you cant tackle a qb with your body weight when there are qbs like watson that can shed tackles

& I don't trust Rodgers to win a game in Seattle if it really matters, either. That place is his bane, kryptonite.

I don't think he can win in Minnesota, either. Vikings are the best overall team in that division.

and they hate the raiders for losing to the texans for the same reason.

then again, losing the #1 pick is far worse than the marginal benefit by, say, improving a #13 overall pick to #10. If you lose the ability to draft Tua, heads will roll. Also I don't see a big marketable guy like Tua wanting to play in a trash place like Cincinnati, he'd hold out.

after having a comfortable lead in fantasy, aaron jones going apeshit last night meant my opponent needed some steelers points to win. multiple turnover/sacks later and he has the fuckin lead. but a TD should get me back on top

If Burrow takes down Bama in Tuscaloosa in 2 weeks and goes on to win the natty, then I could see him leapfrogging Tua. Very tall tasks obviously, but this is the best chance that LSU will have against Bama in a while.

:lol “knows her football”. C’mon brah quit the white knighting, you and I both know these broads are on there only for one reason.

tbh that may have been the most blatant tanking call ever. I get blitzing in that situation but nobody in their right mind would ever send more than six. Any one of us could have thrown that touchdown pass

The broads are there for two reasons. To give men with limp dicks an extra reason to watch, and affirmative action.

I don't think sending an 8-man rush vs. max protect is necessarily a tanking call, though. You have 3 on 3, straight man coverage, cover zero on the back end. That's a fair fight. But if you're going to do that you can't play two of the 3 DBs 20 yards off, you have to play all 3 of them in straight man coverage from the jump.

yeah that's the problem, they just gave that receiver a free 20 yards atleast by playing so far off of him. nevermind lollygagging the rest of the play to give him the touchdown.

gotta look at the situation too. 3rd and 22 with 26 seconds left? Really? This isn't prime Aaron Rodgers or Tom Brady. What are they so scared of? This guy's basically a rookie, no way he's getting those 22 yards
