View Full Version : Lakers: Could this be the year that AD finally figures it out?

That game against the Mavs was one of the best games I've seen from him. He attacked the basket, made quick moves out of the post, accepted the challenge of guarding Porzingis, and (most importantly) accepted the responsibility of halting Dallas's momentum with a beautiful move in OT.

I feel like he's morphing more into a young Timmy variant. The Lakers are even calling a 4-down like play for him and he's responding by making strong, polished moves instead of settling for jumpers. He's always had the tools, and maybe all he needed was to team up with a guy with an alpha personality and winning attitude like LeBron to help bring out his inner killer. Whatever the reason, this guy is going to be a lot of fun to watch this year.

Hope you're right OP. He played 75 games in 2017 and another 75 in 2018 (after being pretty injury prone the years before that). Last year he was on track to do the same (until the failed Laker trade caused the Pels to not play him regularly). He currently has a shoulder sprain he's dealing with. To his credit he's toughening it out so far.

I like it that he took it to a taller Unicorn. He really outplayed him in the 2nd half. When the Lakers needed a bucket - down 98 to 99 - he delivered.

My only concern with AD is his health.

How anyone can root for him after he quit on NO.

He still only 26 years old. This year he has a better team around him to help play to his strengths. Having guys like Dwight and McGee helps him not have to exert so much energy on defense. He’s looking great this year. Really hoping for no injuries for all NBA teams. :bobo

Laker fans spent 6 years doing nothing but trolling ST because their team sucked. Now they want to have legit basketball takes. :lol

Why did you dumb shits not trade Kawai for Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart and Kyle Kuzma? And the number for pick? And a couple more first rounders?

Nah, we’ll take deMar DeRozan. :lmaoSeriously, spurs would’ve been way better if they traded with the Lakers. There’s a basketball take for ya.

it sucked. But at least we tanked correctly and eventually maneuvered ourselves into a good position.

Both spurs and Lakers have won one championship this decade. At least that’s a good way to start, scraping the bottom of the barrel!

If healthy WCF . No laker fan will admit it but clippers are extremely legit. I’m nervous facing them down the line.

We’ve lost like 25 out of the last 30 games we’ve played them. :lol. It’s got damn ridiculous.

Lou Williams never misses against the Lakers, then you bring back Paul George. Lakers will have to be clicking on all cylinders to beat them.

I expect the Lakers to make the playoffs then who knows after that. Bron is in his 17th year. AD hasn't won much in the playoffs - neither has Vogel. Dwert is balling, but how long will it last?

To top it all off, we have 9 new players. Most teams have more chemistry/continuity (like the Clipps, Nuggs, and Jazz, for example). Can Vogel put it all together? He's never done it before. We'll see tbh.

lol "figure it out". If Tristan Thompson can "figure it out" and become a championship contender on a LeBron team pretty sure Davis can

He'll figure it out next year in Chicago with the Bulls.
