Timvps article references Pops interview after the Wizards game, and according to Pop DJM should be close to getting more minutes now.

So are we going to see White/Murray finally? Murray playing 30mpg will inevitably make White and Murray play together unless Pop makes White play only 18 mpg haha

And if Murray is @ 30mpg, what will Whites minutes be at?

Murray has not played 10 games yet. How many games the Spurs have played is irrelevant to his recovery.

that’s true didn’t think about that.
he’s missed only 1 so far though right? So this would be his 10th game then I believe. Either way I’m just waiting to see it finally happen

It's not like he is suddenly going to jump from 20MPG to 30MPG. I'm sure they will slowly ramp up his minutes as they monitor his progress.

I don't see why not.

Besides 2 games so far where he played 19min he has played mostly 23-25 mpg. Pop mentioned that he would increase his minutes 5 to 6 minutes more after 10 games so 30mpg could and should happen.

I think we will be disappointed ... but the last outings were not positive ... right now I would mix things up, move Derrick into the SL with 30 minutes and Murray to the bench with 25+ minutes

He wasn't playing 20 minutes, it was almost exactly 24, so yeah, bump it up to 30.

I hope you are right, but can't say I'm optimistic. I think it will probably be another 10 games or so before we see him consistently playing 30+ minutes.

I'd honestly be pretty surprised if either Dejounte or White end up averaging more minutes than Bryn this year.

That's crazy tbh.

there is no rush to give him 30minutes, hes coming back from a serious injury. Id like to see more loonie walker or keldon or samanic. We have nothing to lose tbh

I dont know If Murray should be playing 30 minutes a game.. The Young Man is averaging 4 TO's per game. Your starting PG cannot average close to the same number of TO's as you they do Assists.

per espn stats through last 10 games.

And then have your Starting SF (DMARE) average 2.3 turnovers a game.

Only thing I care about is if we could close with Dejounte and White.

Hes 23. We aren’t winning a championship this year. he needs to be allowed to fuck up and grow.

This I agree.

And this will only happen if/when they begin playing together during the game and net a positive outcome when their on the floor together. And that will only happen when DJM's minutes increase.

Yeah he had a big injury last year but playing 30mpg is not a crazy amount as long as the doctors has fully cleared him to play that much. He will need to gain that endurance of course but he's young. He'll be okay. Keeping out of back 2 backs will be fine.

Murray and White will continue to average around 24 minutes each for the rest of the season. Pop doesn't know how to coach any other way.

timvp (https://www.spurstalk.com/forums/member.php?u=8), perhaps this could be tonight’s challenge? Guess Murray’s minutes exactly?

If so, get ready for White playing 18 MPG. :pop:

That would be cool except you only have like 10 viable answers.

Realistically, yes. But you technically have anywhere from 0-48, not counting an unlikely, but not ruled out possible overtime ;)

80% joking, 20% serious haha

I don't think OT would matter. When he's hit his minutes level, Pop pulls him and he doesn't re-enter.

Yeah, but if his minute restriction is up like Pop hinted toward, he could get more minutes. I dunno if it will actually happen, but tonight’s supposed to be the night

no way Murray plays 30 plus minutes. The coaches pets need 20+ minutes each
