He's listed as playing for the Spurs in today's RMR game.

Probably available now that most of the Memphis money is tied up in the Posey offer.
I see Devin Brown is not listed today. Did they take him off the roster? Also, are we being mean to Donny Marshall to get back at Kidd? :lol

As an aside it will be interesting to see how Raul Lopez performs. Supposedly the Jazz thought that he will end up being a better point than Parker.

Devin either hasn't made it out there or has proven himself enough to not play further.
Screw Donny, he probably already has a contract thanks to Kidd.

Mike Batiste is a SOLID player.
Kori agreed with me back in March that the Spurs should sign him this offseason.
I like this player and hopefully they hang onto him.

Brown supposedly came to terms with SA it looks like.
My summer sleeper Bogojevic looks like he had a good game. Bettered Raul Lopez's statline in less minutes (4 assists, 5 boards running the point).
Only 12 minutes for the Yugoslav product, are Pop and RC trying to keep him under cover?

I would suspect that Boykins would be the next signing.
Cassius, wouldn't we have to pay Boykins speedy-type money to get him? Wouldn't that screw your plan for paying Manu next year?

No. Boykins would come cheaply unless Golden State opens up their coffers. I'm thinking one year $2 mil at most.

Batiste is worth giving a roster spot believe me.
Watched him put up 20 and 10 on the lakers a couple times.
Kori will put in her nickel on this guy.
This guy IS an emerging talent IMO.

Well Memphis will be signing Posey to an offer sheet today so Batiste must be on his way out. Couldn't hurt the Spurs to look to add some more diamonds in the rough.
So the person who played in place of $8 million man Arenas in the 4th quarters could be had for $2 million? I guess that would be a good deal then.

As I understand it, the Spurs would run Boykins and Ginobili some at point in relief of Parker. Speedy doesn't exactly have to duck whenever he enters a room.

But he signed a qualifying offer with the Grizz today and the Spurs roster is getting crowded at the 2/3, so I don't know if I see him joining the Spurs.

I think Mike just wanted a forum to showcase his skills and drive up his price and/or get an offer from another team. The Spurs definitely had a spot open since Brown doesn't need to waste any more SL time and Kidd's friend whatshisnuts probably already has a contract from NJ.

Normally that's the point of signing a Q.O., but since this will only be Batiste's second year, and the CBA says that players who enterred the league after 1998-99 and have played three or fewer seasons can be made restricted, I'm unclear on the point.

Jun. 27, 2003Wait, you said Batiste signed a qualifying offer from Memphis yesterday, but that article is from a month ago. The Grizzlies had to give Batiste a QO by June 30 to make him restricted, but as long as he hasn't signed the QO he's still on the market as a restricted FA.

Hmm. . .that would be quite a feat considering that his career high is 18 points against San Antonio.
He did go for 15 pts, 11 boards one night against LA though. . .the LA Clippers.

Chump, the Hornets waived Nailon before the season started and he signed with the Knicks. Yeah but didn't he take the Hornets' QO before that? I don't remember the timing.
