it is truly embarrasing how this team has operated the last three years.

First of its clear they wanted to build a midrange heavy ISO scoring team. Its not a style i support but its a style. Gay, Derozan, Aldridge..these are all recent acquisitions.

My question is, they could have easily acquired Melo for free.

They dont want to play modern game but they also arent loyal enough to their own ideas by not signing Melo.

This is sad. Eiher adapt like everyone else or take pride in your system.

Should have signed melo

Those clothes aren't from Hot Topic. Those belong to your sister. Give the clothes back and apologize.

I don’t think they purposely set out to be a mid-range centric team. It’s just that that’s all their main players can do. I’d like to believe they hate it as much as we do and wouldn’t choose to add another player to clog up the space on court.

The real question is why haven’t they called Jamal Crawford? Can provide offense when it is terribly needed. Can shoot the three. Can get to free throw line.

And is Dejounte’s mentor.

Sounds like a no brainer to me.

Melo would have fit into this teams style of play as currently constructed. He looked decent with Blazers, yes Spurs should have signed him. All the naysayers will be coming out saying he this and that but he would have been perfect for the Spurs.

Oh well, not happening now.

Well he did have 5 TO's last night, and 0 AST. But add that to the 10 points he put up, and I think he takes the Spurs to the next level.

Melo in his Portland debut: 4/14, 10 points, 5 turnovers, 5 fouls, -20 in 24 minutes

Yeah, that's really what the Spurs need :rolleyes

I agree with OP. Spurs should go all in on signing inefficient pseudo stars that don't play defense and know how to choke

Op should think before he posts. Horrible take. Should strongly consider joining the new, wannabe Mav krrew, the edgelords.

Carmelo...hell no. That overrated, high volume shooting, egotistical, and cancerous guy is not the solution.

He’s a perfect version of the 1996 Dominique Wilkins that we had the year before we got Tim. But we don’t even need him to tank. Doing fine all on our own.
