Gone are the fun days of the "Will Manu ever score 20" thread. This is the sad state we are in but it must be done. Will this dude ever attempt another three point shot again?

Because in today's league, it's unheard of for a guard to drop 36 points in a game and not even attempt a three.

LMA scored 50 plus last year and didn't hit a 3. It's been a long time since a player scored 50 without a 3.

He won't even space to 3 off the ball most of the time. He'll just loiter in the dunker spot or float in the mid range, clogging the spacing. The rare times he's even near the line, he makes sure to have a toe on it, like he's got a mental block or phobia.

They've enabled his worst habits since his arrival though, in a misguided attempt to placate him.

But at least he's not a guard. Still another anomaly in today's game, though.

Tbh i don't know what happened. He made 86 3s in 16-17 season (career high in made and attempts )

Then for some reason he completely stopped shooting.

Last two games for DeMar: 67 points, 33 shot attempts...and none of them from three point range. This guy is stubborn as fuck about not taking threes.

shooting only 2s forces him to drive to the rim and take hits and his body takes a beating for it. If he likes money he will shoot 3 just in terms of trying to extend his career to get more contracts because he is taking a beating trying to collect only 2s

The guy cannot shoot the 3 ball.. There is a reason why he never has or never will! Once we all acknowledge that that faster we can move on. 2 Reasons come to mind as to why he cannot

R-1: Slow Release on jumper defenders would be quick to closeout.
R-2: Confidence! much in the same manner as a old school Big never developed a jump shot, DeMar probably was quicker and more athletic than everyone he could get past them...

Sadly Simmons because he has the fight to win. Demar/Aldridge don’t have the urgency. You make plays that would win you games, and that includes taking the 3 when your defender is giving to you. Duncan shot against the Sun. He took it because it was there. I doubt Demar takes the same shot.
