tbh, how do you lose when your best scorers are shooting at this clip:

DeMar DeRozan: 52% FG (no 3PT)
LaMarcus Aldridge: 67% FG (no 3PT)
Rudy Gay: 73% (100% on 3PT, 3-3)

Clearly:
1) Defense is absolutely atrocious to offset such stellar shooting
2) There's nothing special about our 3PT specialists
3) This is a dumb team that doesn't feed the hot hand

As much as I rag on LMA's loser attitude, when he's having a night like this, why does Bryn Forbes is chucking shots away from him?

Bryn is Pop's favorite pet and like a good doggie he's just doing what Pop tells him to do. Shoot. He's a no name, undersized, un-athletic scrub that recognizes that obeying Pop guarantees him a spot in this league.

You totally disregard lma and rudy defense and rebounding. So what if they score 20 on 70 percent shooting if they give up 21 and multiple second chance points?

Spurs are bad defensively and cannot control pace because they dont have an attacking pg or post play, so they cant play half court offense. The bigs give up easy and second chance points so transition is hard to get into. That sums it up. Not points scored or percentages by a player or two.

I don't, it's point 1) in the list above. What I'm saying is that we compound that with dumb decisions.

Forbes is the Achilles heel. Pop is convinced he can be Curry 2.0, when he is actually Neal 2.0 without defense. Pop needs to use for an offensive punch and that is it.

Hustling is no intelligence needed. Gay and lma are terrible at that too. No one needs a 17 foot baseline jumper or a 15 foot fadeaway to be our offensive go to. Send them away. Far away.

Yep. Totally selfish point chasers.

I agree mostly with your assessment, but at least I can say Gay and DDR play like they want to win. LMA doesn't want to actively lose, but he doesn't really care if he does.

Ultimately, you do need to keep around a 'star' or two as a magnet to attract other good talent. In today's NBA is about stars teaming up, not the solo franchise thing. Under that premise, I hope they salary dump LMA at this point, and see what they can bring in.

I should also add that it's easy to blame these guys for being mid-range jump shooters, but that's exactly how Pop designed this team when nephew was still around. Easy to blame the players, but the offensive system is exactly what the coach wants it to be.
