Posters in this forum went apeshit and bitched for weeks over a hoax in Chicago involving an actor, that harmed no one, but will have little to say about a police raid based on a fake drug buy by a crooked cop that killed two innocent people.

HPD lied about it afterward and smeared both the victims and the Houston Chronicle for asking questions about it.

Now it's blowing up in their faces in federal court.

Yeah, that's one of the angles, but it's gone way beyond Ofc. Goines by now.

A man who will steal an egg will steal a chicken. HPD narcotics SOP seems to be more generally crooked than the case at issue.

It is. It's also important not to generalize. But in some areas, the fraternity of policemen apparently has gone beyond protecting their own.

No black celebrity in this case, so no glamour. The crook wore the LE shield, so the blue lives matter crowd won't say shit.

The thin blue line protects criminals and buries citizens, and still citizens line up to lick the shield.

Or else, solemnize LE's crimes against the public by falling dutifully silent.

Conservatives worship the police power no matter what it does. Or maybe because of what it does.

How else to explain the crickets?

I don't know about that. Reason constantly criticizes the police and the law enforcement bill of rights as well they should.

I don't know about that. Reason constantly criticizes the police and the law enforcement bill of rights as well they should. That's fair. Not sure I would characterize libertarians as conventional conservatives, but, nomenclature is a bitch.

The dual nature of political discourse pigeonholing a multitude of ideologies to one side or the other makes it pointless to generalize. I do take your point though. The modern GOP almost uniformly behaves as you talk about. "Moderates" of both sides do likewise. Public unions are a force.

Labor unions are all bad except for the police union.

Civil society is so hollowed out people worship force and cheer on sadistic violence against the public.
