Mills is having a really damn good season thus far. Pitty the record isn't giving Mills and DD some love. But that's how it goes I suppose. On other news, Portland has an mvp candidate on their roster and they are worse than us.

Is it impossible to play Forbes like 7 minutes when he's having a game like that?

Really enjoy watching bench units with Mills, Carroll, Gay, Poeltl and no DDR-LMA compete and how tiresome Forbes-DDR-LMA lineups look.

Everyone wants to young guns to play, but the best players might be Poetl, LMA, Carroll/Gay, DDR and Mills.

Streak is over! I don’t want to be unrealistically optimistic, but sometimes it takes that one win, no matter how it comes or who it’s against to get things back in order. That’s not to say that rotations and won’t still be an issue but hey, it’s something.

People here think LW is the new Kawhi and Pop is the only one to not understand it.

It seem like Pop staggered the minutes of DeMar DeRozan a little differently so that at least for a little bit he wasn’t sharing the court with LMA… Did I see that right? Hopefully it was intentional and a sign of more to come.

Forgot Forbes was in foul trouble. Was hoping his leash was getting shorter. Maybe this game put Lyles back in the starting unit. Could probably switch with poetel depending on opposing lineups or Aldridge's mood. Also have been encouraged by Derozans play of late. If they could start him at shooting guard with Lyles and Carroll at the forward spots then Derozan could kill opposing guards in the post. Might as well play to his strengths and quit hoping he will suddenly become even an average three point shooter.

If Lonnie doesn't get a longer leash after this game, his career in SA might as well be over. Guy was doing almost everything right - hustling on man-to-man D, moving off the ball, made a thunderous dunk (was it the first authoritative dunk for the Spurs all season? Why is every one of our players afraid to punish the rim aside from DeMar?), and just generally being an impactful player. Can't believe some posters here who say we're already seeing the best of him... Dude has a lot of room for growth.

The one time Bryn is in foul troubles and his minutes are limited...we win...

Won't be like that next game though :cry

Thanks for the grade Timvp. Very good write-up and to the point. Caroll brings a lot of fight and should get better. Poeltl showed a lot of energy as a starter, very good quick moves to the hole. I hope it continues. Walker doesn’t look bad defensively specially transition, and should help. I want to see more from these 2nd unit. The starters know what they need to bring every night. Late 3rd and 4th quarters is our achilles heel, and need to learn to weather the come backs, which luckily Spurs had a big lead. Spurs need to work on protecting the lead, with defense and avoiding turnovers. Great win. Now let’s start the winning streak. GSG! :flag:

I noticed that also, some as Demar come earlier to play with the 2nd unit. Maybe a hint of what comes ahead. Imo it allows more touches with Aldridge in Demar’s absense, and Demar plays Manu-like role with 2nd unit. Hopefully this will allow more Murray/White together in the court.

I hope that’s a revelation for his atrocious defense. More time for Lonnie/Caroll defense.

Honest feedback:

I think if you want more people to read , or at least click on the article, you shouldn’t do tl;dr. I’m one of those people who only read that line and go, oh ok I’m good, especially when I watch the game which is almost all of them. I’m sure there are plenty others like me.

Maybe a game standout, or standout play, or something along those lines. Just my 2 cents.

Nah. We simply think he’s better than Beli.

So what? he plays a different position. It's like saying he is better than Becky.
Clangs FTs at the same clip as Beli lately, though.

Rudy gay needs to go. I dont see how he graded out better than white. He had 5 tos and he's a forward. He didn't have more rebounds than white who is a pg. Trade now. Carroll is more than capable of doing everything he does but better

You're not wrong that Marco and his reputation as a shooter could draw more defenders than Lonnie, but saying Marco's the better player (and, by extension, the one who should be playing) is incorrect. First of all, he's a young player and prospect - so any minutes he gets are more valuable than Marco's due to the simple fact that he's building experience for his game and future, something Marco cannot do (unless building his future means pissing Pop off to the point of getting traded). Lonnie is already a better defender, in both zone defense and especially man-to-man, and has more tools to finish at the rim or hit midrange shots which Marco so frustratingly clanks. Lonnie can dunk off a cut... Marco can barely cut without his man swarming him from behind, there's no more speed on those tired legs. Lastly, there's the morale component of playing Lonnie: by virtue of being a strong finisher and not blowing defensive assignments every other play, his teammates will be happier with his play and try harder, whereas seeing Marco selfishly take awful shots that miss the rim then fail to rotate the next play can be mentally tiresome for the team.

I can't understand how anyone could see both Marco and Lonnie play and still not give Lonnie every single one of Marco's minutes. Besides Pop, that is.

Walker not being able to make a ft makes it difficult for him to be on the court. It's something that gets in someone's head. He needs to make sure it gets taken care of.

Just because Marco knows where to be doesn't make him a better shot creater than Lonnie who easily can get his own. On defense Lonnies effort last game was better . So for me hes learning and ready.

Two more losses and it is going to be Lonnie + Metu until April and everybody will be happy about Spurs bright future.

I'd love to believe Pop would give the young players if we decided to blow it up, but at this point I'm not even sure. I'm hoping Walker's outing last game earns him some more minutes for the next few games, and he can capitalize. If he's a bad prospect, worthless player - I want to see it on the court. You can't judge a player without watching him play. I'm lower on Metu tbh but he should be playing as well.
