View Full Version : This team is trash, but admit it..You have spent at least 50hrs following the spurs this year

apalisoc_9

3 hrs per game x 19 = 57
Spurstalk 20 minutes per day × 40 = 13hrs
Other Spurs related stuff 5 hrs

in total 75...

but most of you all have spent maybe around 40-55 hrs.

How does it make you feel that you spent 55 hrs of you life in a month span watching Demar close games, Forbes defend, pop coach, Belli play, Mills clap etc.

I am genuinely curious.

At first anger, but now I'm just numb to it all. These last few years from PATFO have really soured my view of the franchise's organizational side of things.

I'm a fan no matter what tbh. Not happy watching these losers but they're the spurs we have at the moment.

Real Spurs fans watch now, not when everything in the garden is rosy. Yes we all feel bad about this team, we see the lack of talent on the roster but i still want to see if there is any hope from the young players.

Nope different time zone/world for me.Check the box score to see if it's a W if not I don't bother, not enough time to sit through 82 games tbh
This year has been light so far... to say the least

But tbh since TD21 retired my interest has fallen off dramatically anyways

The league has changed and the Spurs are stuck with players that other teams have discarded because they play the wrong kind of game.

Wasn't Pop coaching a team loaded with Celtics in FIBA? Look what that same team is doing now.

Pop is too stubborn to acknowledge the modern game and is playing an alternate reality scheme that he is gambling will work. It doesn't! Even the Austin Spurs team hasn't been doing great this year and the last year. The system is BROKEN.

Hard to winning forever. Imagine what other teams go through. The question is for how long? This team is not terrible, they just cannot hit a three. When they do they are tough

Spurs defending the 3 point line is worse than our team not making or taking 3's. I think our offensive schemes are good, but our execution and cohesion gets lost. Team has too many players that don't synergies without each other. Murray and Walker wants to run, LMA does not. DD and White are in between. Mills, Beli, and Forbes need a motion offense, Murray, White, LMA and DD don't.

A period of sucking is necessary to weed out the bandwagoning fans. If you watched every single game when the big 3 were here, but have dropped following the Spurs because they aren't as good... Were you actually a Spurs fan? Or just a fairweather climbing on the winning train?

Clearly some of these fans weren’t here pre-Robinson. I became a fan the year before D Rob was drafted and even longer before he took the court. That time period was fun because there no expectations and once D Rob was drafted there was the expectation that transformational player was on the way.

Yes I’ve invested 50+ hours so far this season. The most frustrating aspect of this season is the under performing. I didn’t expect this team would be a front runner for the chip but this team is surprisingly bad. On paper, these guys should be 7 or 8 seed playoff team. They’re playing like they’re going to give the Knicks or Kings competition for worst record in the league. Ew.

I was here when Pop came. I need to stick around to see him leave. :lol

Seriously, I watched them win 61 games and then go out in the first round, then ditch Richard Jefferson for a non-functional Stephen Jackson, and two years later without either of them, win a Championship. Addition by subtraction. All I want right now is to see PATFO commit to the future, and I'll be around to watch the rebuild.

50 hours? fvck that. didn’t even spend 20 hours watching the spurs last season. i knew this team was going down after getting trading for demar. i still have no idea wtf the spurs were thinking.

spurs were begging me to stop watching once demar was on the team.

Yeah at this point it is sadistic to watch a spurs game as a spurs fan.

I wait to see if they win and then watch the game. Sometimes, I will peak in on a live game to see if they are competitive or if Pop has decided that small ball does not work. Never happens. Why punish myself.

Spurs are playing uninspired basketball. No things they do are working tbh. And the worst thing is we do not have any scorers. Aldridge and Demarr are decent with no leadership. idk what the coaching staff is doing but this month have been disaster.

The team is playing bit better though then few weeks back, but if they can bounce back is anyone's guess.

all I want to see is the team improve and make moves in their losses at this point. seeing Lonnie last night was refreshing. I feel like a beaten spouse taking what I can get

Tbh it turns out I really don't give a shit about the Spurs, it was all Timmy, Manu, and Tony. I'll never be able to follow another team because it just doesn't feel right but the Spurs sucking is kind of like whatever. I thought it would bother me more than it has so far tbh.

As bad as it is it could be even worse on a competitive level and we are spoiled to the core as fans. If you can enjoy the 5 championships then you can deal with the bad too

When the Spurs are a 50+ win team and people bitch, that's being spoiled. Right now they are on a 26-win pace, but that's after starting off with three wins. Since then, they've been on a 15 win pace. Being disgusted with that isn't spoiled.

15 win trajectory, my friend. 1-5. That's what you could expect if a team was in full tank/rebuild mode. They may improve before the end of the season, but this is bad enough that any fans of any team would bitch. It's worse than the year D-Rob got hurt and they tanked to get Duncan - only this team doesn't have players hurt, and they aren't tanking.

I get your point. Maybe it stings worse because they have been good for so long. But this is bad enough to justify the bitching.

I’m not saying don’t complain, but some people want to fire pop or no longer want to support the team and I just think it’s silly. If anything at least we have some young promising guys and maybe a high pick for once will be better than the typical 20th pick range we typically afford. A lot of our homegrown core young guys are later 1st round picks

I have some real concerns in my life so Spurs aren't that important. I enjoyed the regular winning and it's weird and a little bit sad to watch them lose again and again. I watch the games at the end of my day here in Europe and I miss that sweet feeling of going to bed after a Spurs Win.

Anyway, being a coach you always focus on the mistakes so in fact, it's not that different to any other season. Except for the bitter taste at the end of the game.

As sports fan I try to not suffer the lows as much as I enjoy the highs. A regular life is tough enough, basketball it's an entertainment and that has to be fun.

So the past makes it ok for pop to be shitty and throwing away millions of dollars and making everyones life misreable and also destroying the careers of those who deserve to play over those who dont?
