Christian evangelicals overwhelmingly perceive of themselves as "caring, hopeful, and friendly" etc.

Kind of hard to reconcile collective actions like kicking LBGT kids to the curb if they profess their gayness while under their parents roof, or shunning spouses who have the temerity to question faith, etc.
