Theres a reason tor won a title as soon as cancer derozan left, tbh

Kawhi is the reason.

We are. Also, Forbes is getting that contract, LMA will play out his, Gay will get another loyalty deal, and Milli Belinelli will retire as Spurs.

Oh, nice job of making everybody feel better, Polyanna. I wish I could say with any confidence you're wrong.....

How do you think the Raptors would have done against that injured Dubs team if Derozan and Poeltl were still there in place of Nephew and Danny?

Well, we did win one game against a Curry-less Dubs team in '18 1st RD. so it stands to reason DeRozan would've had a better shot to win in 7 with a much better team around him and Siakam bailing him out like Speedy Claxton bailed out TP. I mean, come on we're talking about no Durant or Klay.

I honestly don’t mind that. If the Spurs had 3 point chucking like that and it leads to wins, it’s totally fine by me. No one complained when the 2014 Spurs shot high volume 3s. It’s a lot better than this inefficient, snoozefest 90s ball that the team is running. If Pop and people that like that style want a nostalgia fest, then that’s what YouTube is for. What’s killing the product for small market teams like us is every star player bailing on their team to play in the big markets. It’s a trend that started with LeBron, made its way to KD, Nephew, Davis, Kemba, Paul George etc. Long gone are the days of players sticking with the teams that drafted them.

I am talking about the product of the NBA as a whole. It's boring. Sure, we're all happy when the team wins, but the game itself isn't as good as it was.

Spurs weren't attempting 45 threes a game in 2014. Remember when we were all shocked when they scored 70 in a half against the Heat? Plenty of teams score 70 in halves these days. I liked the game when you'd have post moves and big men (like Timmy, etc). Call me a curmudgeon but 90's ball with stout defense to challenge the great offensive players ala Jordan was way more entertaining than this arcade 3 point shooting contest.

I don't disagree at all about your point about stars going to big markets. It would be even worse if the Knicks weren't such a train wreck.

The only saving grace is that literally no other team will offer him a contract so hopefully it won't be more than 5 million a year. He is getting extended though and I wouldn't be surprised to see something like 3 year 15 million dollars.

Yeah, Forbes is so much more detrimental than other losers like Derozan/LMA. I could actually see Pop moving on from the latter since he's scared of them like the pussy he is.

But Forbes...Forbes is really dangerous in that the entire organization seems to love him as this great underdog story when he's just a fucking loser that's been able to con the retards in the front office. If you want to see the team have any semblance of success these next 5 years, you gotta be hoping for a Bryn blown achilles tbh.

whats really unfortunate is that having a guy likes forbes on the team isn't really a bad thing... if he's playing the proper role. we loved gary neal in his time here, and was fairly similar to forbes in terms of ability. he was just never asked to start and defend other teams' star players :lol

forbes at 3 mil should be one of the better bargains in the league, but instead he's hurting the team by being drastically overplayed

Agrees. Forbes is a rich man's Gary Neal, though Forbes isn't being played in his optimal role.

He's being put in positions where he is having to guard CJ when the Spurs play Portland. That's just bad couching.

Basically the cost of a late first to bring him back is still a cheap price for a player that has always been miscast as a 1st option.

He'd be the third best player, second time around, with no LeBron and a seemingly fairly open East. I think Ujuri might do that deal.

Y'all can spin things however you want to, it's still 90% bad coaching/rotations.

Yes Forbes is being overplayed, but that's only cause we got Forbes and Mills and Pop wants to play both. Play Forbes 15-20 minutes off the bench and he'll be one of the better scorers off the bench. One of the 2 has to go, but Patty is the "leader" according to Pop so he won't trade him.

Then when the team needs stops the logical thinking would be to play Murray and White, but Flopovich never does it. Also Walker should start at SG, but once again, the senile idiot needed 20 games to figure out that he's a better player than Belinelli and by the playing time that Beli has been getting recently, I'm still not sure if he figured that out by now. Another problem is having Gay and Trey Lyles in the rotation. Both of them are bench players, none of the 2 are starting caliber PFs.

Playing a bunch of bad defenders and then wondering why you're defense sucks is on the coach. He admitted to reporters that he doesn't know what his best defensive line up is. Well it's White/Murray/Walker/Lyles/Poeltl but he'll never realize it.

No way would the Raps ever do it. About salary, the only Raps close are Gasol and Ibaka, and they're not giving up their bigs. People with the notion of DDR back to the Raps should just forget it.

Pop is the only reason Forbes is playing in the NBA at all.

If he absolutely has to play, it should be 8 minutes, tops. 12 minutes is a full quarter, and the team can't tolerate that much of him.

He's 81st in the league in 3pt percentage, and not in the top 100 in field goal percentage. He has the mystique of being a good scorer, but he's second rate.

I disagree with you a lot but you're spot on about Forbes. Anyone can put up 12 points a game if given enough shots.

Pop forced Forbes into the NBA. It's okay to recognize Forbes' dime-a-dozen scoring ability and bottom of the league level defense, and not accept every shit sandwich the old man serves up.

Pop screwed himself when he brought in LMA who couldn't take Pop's tough coaching. He just doubled down with Dumbmar. He has no idea how to coach his soft "stars."

You know everything Pop has ever said, or that Manu or Parker ever said about LMA completely belies your post.

The only vocal criticisms Pop ever made about LMA, we heard about in the press.

Specifically, I recall last season Pop saying LMA had to play better, and shortly afterwards turned his season around and made the All-Star team, again.

I don't get the LMA hate. More than about anyone else on this team, he has carried us post nephew. Manu even called him their MVP while uncle's bitch hid in closets in NY to avoid team trainers.

In short, some of you guys know shit about this but still spout like you're a fucking expert.

He went to his coaching staff and told them he was unhappy with his role. Like a grownup.

Have you heard a peep since?

No, in fact all you've gotten is tmo more All-star years and a teammate that has by and large carried his team to the playoffs on his own.

Our team was pretty atrocious last year and yet we made the playoffs and took a 2 seed to 7 games on the road and barely lost.

If LMA still had competent defenders around him, we might be pushing for a much higher seed.

We have not heard a peep since because Pop capitulated. He revamped the offense to insure that LMA got his touches and his quota of 18-foot fadeaways. You like that iso-offense - fine. Pop and LMA are your guys. I prefer actual movement of the basketball and the players. LMA is a ball-stopping, me-first, low-IQ, rather-take-a-poor-shot-than-pass-out-of-a-double-team dinosaur who occasionally gets motivated to play, but mostly is just a black hole. You like the statements made for public consumption by the most private organization in professional sports - fine. I prefer to use my own eyes.

I don't have a problem with LaMarcus, but he has been horrible so far. Then again the whole team has. He's not a #1 option, but he can carry a team into the first round by himself. He's also 34, so not sure if he's just not motivated or the wheels are starting to fall off
