Just saw him on the ground as the cameras were all on Baynes complaining about an elbow on the same play, NBA TV was going to commercial and didn't explain it really.

Yes.
Best case is he tweaked it and it's not serious. But I don't know if he even has a meniscus in that knee considering he's already had surgery on it twice.

Its not a good sign that your 85 year old senile coach has better knees than you.
He is a poor mans Brandon Roy qt this point. Spurs needs to use him until his wheels fall off which will be pretty soon then dump him. but dont put any effort to retain or babysit this broken peg. use it till it breaks and move on

If it turns out to be false alarm, minor it’s still concerning his knee is acting up with so few minutes to his name so far this season. I Expect minutes restrictions and load management on that knee and probably well justified, which is the sad point.

It's mostly bad luck obviously, but can this organization find a promising young player that doesn't have durability concerns?
It seems like no matter how good he might become, he'll never be able to shoulder something like a 32-34 mpg, 75-80 game load.

Sounds like good news so far. Although I won't be relieved until I see him back out there. Rewatching his minutes, he was gimpy for a while and then it seemed to tighten up on him right before he asked out. Hopefully it's just a contusion -- that'd be best case scenario.
Those who are scoffing at the concern shown for Walker obviously don't know that his first two meniscus tears were in noncontact situations as well. Hell, his meniscus tear last preseason happened while he did a simple right to left dribble:

There's a very good chance that it ends up being a psychological thing he has to deal with. Even if he doesn't get hurt, he might start to hesitate when it comes to some of his moves out of concern that he'll re-aggravate his injuries. One of Walker's best assets is that he can jump so well it opens up unorthodox shot angles. If he loses the confidence to make those leaps, he won't have the same ceiling as an offensive player.

Yeah Go ahead and Trust THIS medical Staff.
I could even post Danny Green talking about how the Medical Staff misdiagnosed his Groin injury as "soreness" the WHOLE YEAR.
Now I'll wait for your cult programming response about Toughness or how this didn't happen.
Fish in a Barrel
Lol at the attempt to validate your shit prediction. So it's the medical staff's fault that any player gets injured? They have made mistakes, certainly with DG's injury and to an extent with the Kawhi situation (even though they were right in the end...). What does that have to do with you jumping the gun on a meniscus rear the moment Lonnie had a misstep acting like it was a sure thing? Even in those tweets you quote, they list out Lonnie with an undisclosed knee injury and then state the extent of the injury; what's the issue with that? Not like they tried playing him through the tear... But go off, my man :tu
i love ST doctors; they're almost as reliable as using Google for a diagnosis.

Agree with everything you said but it shouldn't be too worrisome. I would much rather have a player rely on his skills over his athleticism any day or else you just get a Russel Westbrook. Lonnie has so much potential in buttery jump shot and his dribble pull ups. The most important thing in today's NBA is getting a knock down jumper which I think Lonnie has and can grow more into.

he better legitimately be hurt because if he's just being benched just because, i'm done watching games until he's back in. i'll look at box scores and see if hes getting minutes, but I don't want to waste a minute on a team that is not putting the players that actually bring excitement to the team.
i don't think lonnie walker is a great player or anything yet but he's crazy athletic and a lot of fun to watch. i would love to see a lineup of Murray/White/Walker/Samanic/Poeltl which I know is not going to happen anytime soon or maybe never but thats the only thing that keeps me in tune with the spurs at the moment in hopes that we see most of those players on the floor at the same time.
Pop is killing this team...so depressing.
