He’s a good coach but I think it was an underwhelming hire for a school like FSU.

Certainly how I felt during the process. I did have Norvell near the top of the 2nd Tier candidates.
It seemed the main possibilities were
- Brian Kelly & James Franklin
- Campbell from Iowa St and Fleck from Minnesota
Fleck had massive buyout before the process and Campbell used the process to sign an extension with Cyclones. He is likely too exotic for the South and rather wait a couple years for Notre Dame/Michigan to open up
I can't say if Kelly/Franklin were legit available. But I don't think FSU can currently afford them while also paying off Taggart.
Based on what I have read from recruits, Norvell has been a major upgrade over Taggart. Specific plan, attention to detail and commitment to win now. His DC hire seems just okay. Everything else so far I have loved.

FSU is back. Major holes on defense but this kid Milton is a savior. Keep him upright and enjoy the Seminole resurrection.

Night before Super Bowl. I remember that night at the Rose Bowl

Seminoles lost by 16 last season at South Bend and it wasn't even that close. Sunday is only a 7.5 spread. FSU is much improved under 2nd year coach Norvel. Covid really derailed his first recruiting attempt heading into 2020 but was able to pull a number of transfers this past offseason. Including former UCF star McKenzie Milton at QB
norvel iced his own kicker, inadvertently. bad break that marred a potentially great comeback.

Being an FSU fan is a character flaw
