Bottom line is, the BCS and the Rose Bowl can invite anyone they want to play for the NC.

All Texas has to do is go undefeated and they are in the Rose Bowl. Same with USC.

End of Story. That's who most people want to see go at it.

Nope, not even close. The Rose Bowl is obligated to invite the top two teams for the national championship. The clause refers to the possiblity of overriding the other three BCS bowls' selections to match up #3 vs. #4 if there are four undefeated teams.
