I really don't know enough about the Middle East to make a definitive comment on that. If the general was as big a deal as reported, then trading that for weathering a missile attack seems like a good deal.
I doubt that Trump knew this was going to be the outcome when he pulled the trigger given the broad range of outcomes. But if this is all that happens, he came out on top.

That being said, I personally don't think this is the end of it. And a bigger can of worms was opened than he (Trump) realizes.

a) i'd get out of the area tbh. we shouldnt be having a military presence in iraq anyway. that would eliminate that possibility.

b) right now i think the sides have some mutual understanding that this "exchange" is over. personally, i dont think tit for tat attacks are sound on any level... but that's the cards we've been dealt by current leadership.

c) if iran, or any other country, launches an attack on the US, that's a new incident/calculus.
