I see bad things ahead for the Lakers.

They mortgaged their future, but for what?

He will look good in Denver next year when he decides to play with more than 1 good player.

Only New Orleans could have offered him the supermax.

This is likely just Davis waiting until the end of the year so he can get a five year deal with 8% raises. Even if he only wanted a four year deal he'd make almost $10 million more over the entire contract by signing with the Lakers this summer rather than now.

When he suffers a career ending injury he'll look like an idiot. If he doesn't then he makes out ok.

I don't know why people are making a mountain out of Davis declining a "max extension" when "max extensions" are always for less money than free agent contracts. Wow he didn't take a huge paycut from what the Lakers can legally offer him in six months, he must be leaving.

It will be interesting to see what teams are able to unload future salaries to cut payroll for next season. Because as of now, only Cleveland, Charlotte, Memphis, Atlanta would be able to tender a competitive max free agent contract to Anthony Davis. Chicago is not close to having enough room unless Otto Porter opts out of his $28 million player option, and even if he did, they’d still be shy of full max cap space for Davis.

He's a mercenary that will try to bolt in 2 years like he said he would. Like all the new "star" player contracts they sign, they are only for 1-3 years then they try to hold the team hostage again and again.

He's already in the league's premiere media market and on its glamour team. Don't see him taking less money to leave and go play on a pretty garbage Bulls team. Chicago doesn't even have any capspace to go after him this summer. Also, when did Davis say he was leaving in two years?

Lakers will have cash to blow for decades, but spurs can't afford to be a lotto team and watching their talent walk away because their burnface coach/gm can't handle egos (something aplenty in the NBA) like Zen Master, riles or Kerr.

He's a snake. He's bolting to Chicago.

Even the juice can't keep LeBron going HAM nearing 40.

You have nothing behind them.

You might get some PO appearances, but then you're back in the cellar.

What was wrong with what I said?

Brow is bolting. He's a snake. Trust them and get bit? That's on you.

King is on the juice. No doubt. Can't outrun Father Time.

Take away those two, what do you have?

You'll get to the POs this year, find a new sidekick and get there next year, too. See, I'm giving some props.

And I'm hella fun to be around, hence why I don't post much on weekends. Bring the booze, I've got the blow. Let's throw some steaks on the grill, start a bonfire and have good fucking time.

Lakers will be great with All Star Alex Caruso and KCP leading the team once LeRoids and mercenary AD leave.

See the Worriers once mercenary KD left, and DPOY scrub ass Draymond Green / SuperCoach Kerr

You never know (KD in Brooklyn fwiw), but AD likely doesn't want to be the next Joakim Noah on a team with mediocre talent. He had that in New Orleans.

You think nobody will want to play with AD in LA? If so I disagree.

AD will sign a max deal this summer. All other contracts expire when Bron's max deal expire.

Rob Lowe Pelinka > RC Drunkford tbh :lol

THe amount of built in advantages the lakers have is unbelievable (history, prestige, geography, celebrity status). The lakers should never ever miss the playoffs because of that and yet they did, for six years in a row. In fact, the lakers should never finish anything less than the WCF every single year with those advantages.
