Spurs did their part hitting 16 3s. It was just bad luck that the opponent hit the same number

Is the playoff streak really that important to pursue with this hopelessly inept 4th quarter team? Do fans a favor and look to securing a lottery pick, please.

Was Demarre Carroll making a statement by wearing thoz raptor colors with his Drip?

He was a Raptor

Good for him, what Pop is doing to his career is criminal and no free agent should even think of coming to this shitshow now...

Not too bad a loss compared to normal.

Sure, White was on tilt with a meltdown, but he's had far more clutch 4th quarters than meltdowns, and I'm not worried about it.

What is worrying is the continued playtime for Forbes, but that's a given and pure Pop. The more White and Murray together the better.

Though Pop still hasn't learned how to stagger 2 players together after all this time? He couldn't figure out how to keep at least one of Murray and White on the court? It shouldn't be that hard.

Spurs have actually won a lot of close games throughout the year. Just not the recent ones.

Rotations are still the issue. Hopefully White and Murray start together from here on out. Hopefully Brent gets injured, traded, or demoted to the bench.

honestly Pop's line ups were better than expected this time. White made the dumbest plays at a crucial point of the game followed by Murray

Cannot criticize Murray for that. Kyle has been doing that to people for centuries.

Sure you can. He was casual with the ball. If he makes himself big and swings the elbows with ball in, Lowry either backs off or picks up the foul.

Murray didn't execute fundamentals and it cost the Spurs the game.

giving Aldridge and DeRozan a combined 15 shots while White, Murray and Forbes shot 35 times :lol

Most of those close wins were games where we had comfortable leads coming into the 4th quarter, tbh. Poor 4th quarter execution, mainly within the last 3 minutes of games, has been an issue throughout the season. I agree that rotations are the main issue but most of the guys we want to play more have made costly 4th quarter mistakes as well. White and Murray need to play together though and use the rest of the season to grow and learn...along with Walker of course.

I don't think a challenge was possible. All you could do is challenge that Lowry touched it last but it was crystal clear it was Murray. A challenge in that situation would have been useless and a waste of s timeout I think

I like how popovich finally went to Walker at the end of the game when he got in desperation mode. That's the only time popovich will ever make adjustments, because he's an arrogant ass and doesn't want to admit he was wrong.

Wonder what its like to have a real pg

And a real SG since Bryn and Patty played a major part of the fourth.

Another 4th quarter collapse . Spurs stop scoring at 97 around the 8 min after getting the lead. That was about time Pop prioritized floor spacers with no D for the rest of the 4th. Spurs didnt get off 97 till around 3.30 mark.

When this coach figures out closing with the likes of Marco, Patty and Bryn combined isnt working, it may be too late. They are undersized or 1 dimensional shooters that spread the floor . That's all. In today's NBA you need more than that on both ends.

White has been really solid in 4th Qtrs for a while now and was having a great game through three quarters today. What's with the "I wonder what it's like to have a PG" bullshit?

White-Murray is good. They were causing havoc on defense even if they had some stupid turnovers on the other end.

The fact that Pop recognizes how good the DJ-DW pairing is, but will probably still start his pet Forbes next game, is insane

Ya that would help too. Rudy wasnt that great either.

Pop did flirt with DWhite and Dejounte after seeing Bryn Marco shit shoe but raptors were rolling by then And spurs offense was stagnated at 97.

It ain that hard to figure out tbh. Although I am simplifying things. Pop finished with that same lineup that started badly in the first quarter minus Lyles and Demar at pf in the 4th. sprinkle abit of Patty and Marco in there. Its quite obvious why the defense takes a hit in the 4th and we already know about the offense.

Slippy

Like why close with Bryn at all if he ain't having lights out Curry like game. He was such a liability on defense again tonight , theres no point to playing him the 4th.

Slippy
01-26-2020, 08:46 PM
Kyle Lowry was abusing Bryn in the post. That just shouldnt be allowed and can be avoided . Instead I see pop looking for the refs to bail out Bryn.

That's how sad this coach has become

We saw two positive rotation changes this game. White and Murray start together in the 2nd half, and the two were joined by Walker on two different 4th quarter stints, including the last minute.

I wonder how much longer till we get to see Metu get some actual PT during the game. I am guessing he has jumped Carrol for the 5th string PF spot. Lyles/Gay/DDR/Beli/Metu Maybe after this game Lyles falls back and beli goes away.

Learn to read or stay dumb lol. Im talking about getting stops and those players combined..That's been happening all year. You going off on your own tangent as per usual.

Spurs got the lead at 97 to 89 despite the TOs. That was at 9min mark. Then got outscored 21 to 9 to finish. This has happened all the season but let's blame the turnovers.. haha that just retarded. As soon as the spurs fell behind at 97 the pressure was on and DWhite was the only one looking to make things happen. That ain't the big picture. The story of our season is lack of defense and the weak link shooters pop keeps going to close.

Look at who comes in at the 9min mark and the oppostion run begins. Its the same usual suspects

Not to say the Spurs couldn't have won this, but Kobe's passing clearly wasn't having the same effect on the Raptors as the Spurs. It's only logical tbh; Raps are a younger squad, have a young coach, not much history involving the Lakers or Kobe (not to the extent that the Spurs had at least); meanwhile the Spurs' Head Coach and Assistant Coaches were all crying on the bench before tipoff, and our star was out of the game mentally since Kobe was his idol, meanwhile the Raptors' superstar never picked up a basketball until he was like 16 and clearly doesn't have the same attachment/idolization of Kobe from growing up within the sport.

Doesn't excuse Pop and his pet playing, but rotations were admittedly better last night. Baby steps it is with Pop, it seems...
