Despite the millions and benefits, it's cruel that a man who spent his entire life trying to craft an image and carefully build a legacy/narrative won't be able to enjoy being celebrated, not even for the HOF. Life's weird that way.

Kobe'sAchilles
01-26-2020, 03:01 PM
Damn I don't even know what to say. Obviously I'm going to change my avatar. Kobe Bryant was one of the greatest players ever. period. He had epic rivalries with my Spurs. I have never feared a player as much as I feared Kobe. When we had an 18 point lead in the 4th I remember thinking, it's only 18 points, that's not good enough. He played through all sorts of ailments and injuries. Even his torn Achilles was epic bc the dude sank both free throws. I just can't fucking believe it.

This honestly.

Get you one of those jet planes like Dale Jr. He was also recently in a plane crash with his wife and survived without a scratch. When helipcoters go down it's sudden stop city. At least with a plane you slide in provided you have the time for the manuever.

Easily a top 10 of all time. I believe he was a good person. He was there from Jordan to LeBron. A true 2 way player. Very smart. An amazing legend. What a huge loss for culture, the basketball community and sports in general. He worked so hard on his game and his conditioning. Played and represented his country! Led his team to championships! I listened to Detail in which Kobe broke down players' games. Great insight ! Brilliant man. What a loss. Truly sad !

On the other hand, it's hard to cancel games on such short notice when the arenas have already prepared for them and people have bought tickets.

If you hated him as a player, that's the biggest honor you can give him. But I truly believe white media hated him the person as a result of Shaq, Colorado, etc. That's my issue. Not rival teams' fans wishing that he fails.

If you hated him as a player, that's the biggest honor you can give him. But I truly believe white media hated him the person as a result of Shaq, Colorado, etc. That's my issue. Not rival teams' fans wishing that he fails.
Even if they did, the dude just died on his way to go play basketball with his daughter who was inspired to play by her dad...about as tragic as it gets no matter how you feel about Colorado/Shaq/etc.

I am beyond shocked.

He was one of the legends I grew up watching, no matter he played for the opposition. I can't believe he is gone.

4. Kobe cutting backroom deals during the last lockout to sellout his fellow players because that meant more money for him at the end of the day.

But the most interesting series of events outlined by Hunter were those linking Bryant and Pelinka (who also represents Fisher) to the surprising collapse of negotiations at the Waldorf Astoria in New York on Oct. 28, 2011 -- about a month before a new labor deal finally was struck, salvaging a 66-game season and reordering the financial and competitive landscape of the sport.“Late in the evening before the Waldorf Astoria meeting, I was already in bed for the night when my phone rang," Hunter wrote in the court filing. "The caller identified himself as the ‘Black Mamba.’ I knew it was Kobe Bryant, a superstar player for the Los Angeles Lakers (https://www.cbssports.com/nba/teams/LAL/los-angeles-lakers/) and the highest paid player in the NBA (https://www.cbssports.com/nba)."
Bryant informed Hunter that his agent, Pelinka also was on the phone.
At that point, Hunter said that Bryant urged him to accept a 50-50 split of revenue in the meeting the following day and "put this thing to bed. ... Do the deal."
Hunter said Bryant also told him, "I got your back."

In sorrowful times like this, levity helps lighten the mood.

In high school, does anyone know why Kobe's helicopter pilot participated in cross country instead of football? The guy always failed to touchdown.

Does anyone know why Kobe's helicopter was filled with Sprite for people to drink? They couldn't get 7up.

How did the crash site investigators know Kobe had dandruff? They found his head and shoulders up and down the crash site.

What was the last thing that went through Kobe's mind? The helicopter's tail blade.

I am glad to see someone here is not acting like a phony because the rapist asshole is dead, you get people here who shit talked Kobe any and every chance they got and all of a sudden they want to act like it was nothing personal against Kobe, just some old fashion intense gamesmanship. I'll add a tribute or two.

4. Kobe cutting backroom deals during the last lockout to sellout his fellow players because that meant more money for him at the end of the day.

Did you see a 'RIP the pilot' here? I get it if it's a close relative, but the whole celebrity worship, for a guy that literally wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire next to him is ridiculous.

Objectively, he was a confirmed snitch, an alleged rapist, a cheater, and an egomaniac. The world is a better place today, despite muh nostalgia and muh feelings.

He also had charity organizations and donated millions to help others but let's just focus on the bad because of your try hard online edgy persona :tu

Liberal anchor/reporter. So, we'll just move on quickly.

But for what it's worth, I don't want to persecute anyone for a slip of the tongue.
