First off I wanna say condolences... I absolutely hated the guy and thought he was overrated... But I don't with this on anyone... And RIP to his daughter too... Incredibly sad situation for all involved...

As for the topic ... Sadly I think Pop will double down on his "bigger than basketball" stance... He won't trade anyone, and will almost certainly give DDR and Forbes a huge contract...

Terrible tragedy that affects the entire league but the Spurs will undoubtedly suck as usual. It has nothing to do with Kobe & everything to do with who they are. Atrocious D, don't give a shit attitude, pr darlings always saying the right things..

Should have no affect on how the Spurs or any other team conduct their basketball operations.

I like how a human being lost his life, along with several others, and all that’s thought of is “how it affects the Spurs”. Who cares. I don’t give two s**ts how it affects the Spurs.

LOL, the Kobe "situation."
The situation: mortality.
We are born to die.
Life goes on.

Using a human tragedy to have yet another go at your own team. Shitty human being.

If anything, TD and all other HOF inductees this year should request they be inducted next year so the ceremony should be all about Kobe this year, tbh.

I think it will actually motivate Derozan even more as he will want to carry and continue Kobe's legacy

I had that same thought yesterday. It wouldn’t be a bad move. But then I thought what if one of those guys dies between now and then. Then THEY would’ve missed out.

Good idea, but tough call to make. But if they did, it would make sense.

Yes, Kobe's death definitely means Pop will be granting a huge new contract to Forbes and DeRozan. He was on the fence about it, but the helicopter crash convinced him it's the right move.

duncan2K5 is now officially the biggest idiot on the forum. There were a couple of other contenders, although he's always been at or near the top of the leader board. I was on the fence about it until Kobe's death, but this convinced me that it was the right decision.

Congratulations!

Duncan probably doesn't want the spotlight anyways.

All these little no name shitposters have to squeeze whatever they can get out of this. They're all climbing all over each other to try to post the most edgy remarks.

Op posted a very topical and respectful analysis and the edgelords are the people freaking out at the mild criticism over a rich dead athlete for a rival team. Two pages of performative indignation!

A whole bunch of "let me talk to your manager" posts

I'll also add op has proven right about kawhi in some respects and wrong in others. It's hardly the case that he's the biggest moron here.
