Is it true that Bloomberg has literally not gotten any outside donations? I’m somehow doubting that.

That’s what they’re saying. Probably some truth to it.

do you take issue with this?

"I am self-funding my campaign and therefore I will not be controlled by the donors, special interests and lobbyists who have corrupted our politics and politicians for far too long. I have disavowed all super PACs, requested the return of all donations made to said PACs, and I am calling on all presidential candidates to do the same."

No. But I expect he is doing all sort of corporate backroom deals as it stands. His corporate lobbyist support has steadily trended upwards.

I literally asked "who the fuck is Mike Gravel" and you instead whined about the DNC being a bunch of elitist meanies.

Even if he truly wasn’t getting outside support it’s a meaningless and sanctimonious gesture given that Bloomberg can bankroll his own campaign with a tiny scintilla of his total wealth which is what I think spurraider is saying.

Mike Gravel is like 89 years old....iirc he actually made a few debates in the 2008 primary and was more relevant then. I can’t believe he’s actually trying to run 12 years later.

gravel was a senator for alaska until 1981, and then the story gets funny

- lost in primary to democrat challenger
- republican wins the seat in general election. frank murkowski
- he holds the seat until 2002, when he wins election to become governor
- as a result, frank murkowski resigns from the senate, and appoints his daughter lisa to that seat
- everyone was so pissed that they changed the law, stripping the governor from that power going forward

Agreed. Whether or not a like the guy I’ll always find Trump successfully baiting the media into talking g about him around the clock and by doing so handing him the presidency impressive.

And now they love Lisa Murkowski perhaps more than any other state loves one of its senators :lol
