View Full Version : Best/Worst Brynisms

A lot of Bryn's quirks, habits, and mannerisms, AKA Brynisms are either maddening or endearing although I think most people here consider them the latter.

Among the many, I haven't heard people mention "the hop". When he defends he "hops" with both feet at the same time which puts him in the worst possible position. It is probably the most singular characteristic that causes people to blow by him. When he hops to his right, you blow past on his left which is how he always winds up chasing his man from behind.

What are your favorite/most hated Brynisms?

There's nothing more cringeworthy than Fobes throwing up three fingers every...single...time he makes one, and even if the Spurs are getting blown out. :lol

I mean it’s sometimes necessary in rec leagues bc the court sucks (dusty) and/or your shoes aren’t 100%. Thus, you giving your shoes a little more grip. But this fool plays on the most pristine hardwood in brand new sneakers every game. Stop trying to look cool. Same shit with blowing in your hands. You’re not playing outdoors in the cold. Loser.

Everything that guy does is fucking annoying. His whole existence on this Earth is to annoy. The dude is like a human mosquito just buzzing around around your ear. You swap at him thinking you got him but nope. Bzzzzzz.

He also pronounces sushi as "sue-SHE" with an emphasis on the second syllable.

This my be my favorite spurstalk thread in quite some time.

This dude is so incredibly annoying. I loved when one of the Suns (?) announcers dubbed him "fake hustle", diving after a ball he had absolutely no chance to save. I'm sure popovich loved it

I laughed yesterday when I saw him wipe the soles of his shoes getting ready to play defense only to get his shit pushed in per par.

I hope this faggot searches the internet for his name, this thread pops up and makes him contemplate whether his life is worth it. Free hint: it’s not bro.

I hate how he always jumps when he passes. Stop it please.

I hate when he fucking jumps towards his man when he's playing defense. Like literally hops towards them. Two times stand out from yesterday--once SGA drove right past him and another CP3 did a rip through move and drew a foul.

Who told this scrub playing defense that way is a good idea? That's like fundamental shit.

I'd be shocked if he could survive on an NBA roster anywhere but San Antonio other than possibly as an end of the bench, spot minute player. He'll never start for another NBA team...or coach.

This guy should be running in pickup games at Lifetime. At least when I watch him I realize that the NBA dream truly is possible for anyone....absolutely anyone.

After paying closer attention the past few games, it appears that Forbes refuses to leave his man in the corner even when The most basic type of defense requires a rotation or need to cut off another player's penetration into the lane. He just stands and leaves the rest of the team hanging out to dry.

Cos the dude has feet of stone on top of everything else. If you watch, you'll see drivers routinely passing right by him (as a secondary defender) on their way to easy layups.

Found another Brynism. The "adorable" way he swipes behind a player that has blown by him like he has a chance to make any kind of defensive play on the ball. Fake Hustle Style.

The jumping up and down at the scorers table before he checks in the game... like he really about to do something important on the floor and has to loosen up his legs to get ready. :lol
