Aldridge two years ago was an MVP caliber player and was great too last year. Ofcourse he is moody so this year he sucks.

But if we are talking pure value considering the personel around them...

Who is better?

who is more valuable

wtf....

this pos has no competitive instincts in him, he only cares about his stats...theres a reason why any team led by him has been nowhere worth talking about...

Actually if that 2014 Spurs would have avoided the Spurs they would have made the NBA Finals.

Exactly. Because one is a forward and one is a swingman (that's what you meant, right?).

Definitely a tough question tbh. Determining the taller midget is always a toss up.

Both wouldn’t lead a team to the finals as the leading scorer. #9 in the rafter did though...

Peak tim or peak tiago?

Peak parker or peak Joseph

Peak robinson or peak mcdyess

LMA vs Parker makes more sense. I think they are pretty similar players in terms of impact, though obviously Parker has more hardware. Aldridge will very likely make the HoF though, just like Tony.

Close the fucking thread, my god. Stop responding to this stupidity seriously, smh.

Aldridge has more individual accomplishments and better stats (not even close)

Not sure why player fans are getting offended at this question, tbh.. at least try and make an argument that doesn’t involve rings or international wins over Marbury-led Team USA. If that’s your argument then JJ Barea is a HOF

Bad comparison. Two different roles, completely different players. Manu is a HOFer. Aldridge is 0 and forever and probably won't sniff the hall except to clean it.

That Portland team was picked to win the West by a lot of people that year. You guys like to have revisionist history but that Portland team was scary good that year.

But you didn't mention the Blazers in your original post so it came off confusing AF, tbh. This is a stupid thread though and should be deleted immediately. The anti-Manu trolls' shtick is played out. He's going to the HOF. TD, TP and Pop appreciate him for what he meant to the team. He's a winner. He's classy and a true sportsman who never acted like a bitch and true fans loved him for it. Deal with it trolls.

It's blasphemous to put LMA in the same sentence as Manu... And if this was 6 years ago before A came on the team, anyone comparing them would have been laughed off the site... But ever since we got him, fans (just like the coaching staff) want to treat him wid kid gloves and give him props that he doesn't deserve... And treating him like a long-time spur... Disgusting

LMA has had a great career. We are watching his decline. In Portland, he was awesome. No, he didn’t win titles, but lots of players have that same issue, especially in the era of super teams. But it is silly to diminish his accomplishments, esp bc he is changing his game and keeping himself relevant as he ages.

The good thing about having players like Aldridge and DeRozan on the Spurs is fans finally realizing that counting stats mean shit. I remember arguing around 2010 with folks that thought players like Joe Johnson or Michael Redd were better than Manu just because they scored more points per game. We have come a long way from those dark days.

People sometimes underrate Manu because he never scored a ton of points and came off the bench his whole career. One thing you can see in these games is that competitive nature and heart that he played with had a huge impact on winning games. Oh plus he was our 4th quarter closer who we could rely on who could make a crazy play offensively or defensively to win the game. That’s what we’re missing now. Hopefully our young guys can develop that talent soon.

The guy made it past the first round like once or twice in Portland...he isn't a winner...he can't be a 1st option and his ego won't allow him to be a 2nd option
