Since NBA season has been suspended, and I'm bored, I started to think about how certain players, and their career playoff record against the Spurs. Can anyone tell me about Shaq's playoff record against the Spurs, cause I couldn't find anything but raw stats like points, rebounds e.t.c

Shaq wasn't with the Lakers in '08 and he didn't face the Spurs in the Playoffs that year.

He was with the Suns and Tim hit the three pointer in Game 1 in his face.

Yeah if I recall, Shaq was somewhat held in check (as much as a prime Shaq could be I guess). Kobe was the assassin that made things look easy in those annihilation series’s.

My bad. That was the year of Game 7 vs. New Orleans and that long night on the tarmac.

No team unscathed by that.

Spurs took the brunt of it. 02 Kings, 01 Blazers, 01 Pacers, 10 Celtics are notable victims though.

But the Spurs bookended the Laker three-peat -- won the last game played at the Fabulous Forum in the '99 sweep of Shaq and Kobe.

Then ended the Laker three-peat in '03, again on the Lakers' home floor -- the first playoff series the Lakers lost at their new home, Staples Center.

I got to attend both of those games and I will never forget either.

Spurs were really good. With help from Stern, they really underachieved. But if Webber didn't blow out his knee in 03 and the Mavs had kept Nash after 04, then maybe 05 and beyond would have been different, too.

Because the entire spurs defense was geared towards stopping shaq and let the others beat you. Even fisher had his vs the spurs because of that philosophy.

The same series where the Spurs were given a faulty plane by the NBA that required maintenance leaving them on the airport tarmac 'til 4:30 am - AFTER a grueling GAME 7 against the New Orleans Pelicans and on the same day as Game 1 against the Lakers.
