OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) -- Guard Baron Davis missed the Golden State Warriors' game against Utah on Friday night with a strained hamstring.

Though Davis' latest injury isn't considered serious, coach Mike Montgomery decided to rest his oft-injured star guard, who got hurt in the third quarter of the Warriors' season-opening victory over Atlanta.

Davis, a last-minute scratch from the lineup, wasn't in uniform or on the Warriors' bench as the game against the Jazz began, apparently receiving treatment in the locker room.

After playing in 262 consecutive games to begin his NBA career, Davis has been plagued by injuries in the last three seasons. The two-time All-Star missed 81 games in those seasons with the New Orleans Hornets, who traded him to Golden State on Feb. 24.

Derek Fisher started in Davis' place.
