Damn, where is that picture of Manu with Timvp's little brother?

That's reason enough to keep Manu alone!

"Trade" and "Manu" are hopefully never in the same sentence.

I would trade Manu for one player in the NBA and that is TMac. 'Nough said... (the kid is going to be an all-star)

MannyIsGod

Oh, there are several I'd trade him for.

Tmac
Paul Pierce
Ben Wallace
Kobe Bryant

notice the trend?

untradeables

No one should be considered untradeable outside of Tim Duncan, especially now that the Holt-ing Pattern has taught the front office that clearing cap space ain't worth a d@mn.

Im going to give you the benifit of the doubt here Ruff because you are generally a smart bloke, but you have to be kidding with this statement.

Or not?

Why would Ginobili be untradeable? He's a nice player but he's not ever going to be an All-Star. He is real athletic, heady, and a tricky player (gets away with things only long time veterans do) but he's not a dynamite scorer and is a tad reckless on the floor. Plus at 26-27, its not like he's a raw untapped rookie. WYSIWYG for the most part.

You don't trade Manu for role players. Why? Because Manu plays like an all star when in matters the most, that's why.

We have plenty of players who can score from quarters 1-3, Manu gives the Spurs what they need the most, clutch plays on both sides of the court.

DuffG, you honestly just said Manu for Ben Wallace would be a steal for the pistons?

Insane.

Fizzar - Yes, Ginobili gives clutch play in the 4th. So do a lot of NBA players. No doubt he brings something SA needs but its not irreplaceable.

Name another role player that brings as many clutch plays as Manu in the 4º while plying 25 mpg.

We are talking about the best player in Europe, Manu hasn't showed his best yet, and I don't agree with the ones who think he won't get much better. This year Manu will bring the stats to back all the intangibles he brings to the table. Last season he was relegated to a spectator on offense, that will change this season and Manu will flourish.

You might think I'm biased but everyone thought so when I said Manu was gonna be the difference maker last year against the Lakers, and we all know by now who was right.

I've been correct about everything I said about him, I think at least I have the benefit of the doubt here.

As I've said since last november, MANU IN THE 4º = MONEY.

Ginobili will turn 26 later this month. This season he was hampered by an injury early before coming on strong later. The main reason I wouldn't give him up is because the young man is clutch. Not just a clutch scorer, but clutch with his D, rebounding, assists, etc...Whenever the Spurs needed a big play in the playoffs Ginobili always seemed to provide it.

Lots of people play clutch in the 4th??

2cleva come on.

Loose hate people for the guy. Manu > Spree

Fizzzar

I wouldn't say Manu > Spree. I'd rather say, In the 4º: Manu > Spree. And that's just what the Spurs were missing.

Bump for Ruff.

MI - Nup, wasn't kidding.

Manu is never gonna be a 25pt scorer, but he will be a Scottie Pippen 18/5/5 type for another 5-7 years methinks. He is simply the best balla I've seen in a long while - seeing him up close showed me just how talented a player he is, and after only 1 year in the NBA he has a lot of growth left in him.

I thought his 3-ball was suspect, then with about 20 games to go he starts nailing them and shoots well over 40% from the arc in the playoffs... and how about those clutch rebounds and steals?

Manu is a players player - he is pure instinct and I think he'll make an all-star team one day... not to mention his entertainment value!

Has to work on his mid-range game, but really this guy is an incredible package.

I would not trade him for anything other than another pure balla (like TMac) - I'm not talking in the "NBA players as trading cards" sense, but about NBA players I absolutely want to see on the Spurs for at least the next 5 years. I'd hate to see this guy ripping it up anywhere else - and mark my words, he WILL rip it up (hell, he has already!).

I'm definitely with Fizzzar on this one! ;)

There is this guy, plays for the T-Wolves, wears 21, I hear he is pretty good.

Heard of him?

:)

RuffnReadyOzStyle
07-18-2003, 03:31 AM
Yeah, but he plays Tim's posi... sorta. ;)

Okay, there's probably 10 guys I'd trade Manu for, but as Manny said, they're all "untradeables" like TMac and KG.

I thought that is what you meant, just checking you weren't insane in the membrane.
