He will be Dallas' starting PG by the end of the year.

I don't think so. This is a lot like his coming-out game against Phoenix (see sig). If he does this a lot more consistently then maybe he will, but not with one game.

The funny thing... Beno's career high numbers are better than tonights career high game by Devin.

I guess Beno is our starter by years end... huh?

Harris still sucks.

He's Leandro Barbosa but slower and with a worse shot.

How so?

It was a satirical joke.

Let me explain, you used one game where a player gets career high numbers to then predict a promotion.

Beno last year had a career high game of 25 when he started.

I guess Beno is going to be our new starter by years end.

Actually, I have been saying that since last year. I think Harris is their best PG. I have been saying it for a while.

Terry is better suited to play the two.

Devin Harris is definitely staying a backup because Terry is more consistent and one of the best shooters in the league. Harris is a better spark off the bench also.

xcoriate
11-06-2005, 04:51 AM
Harris is overrated and will never amount to being anything more that a strong backup/weak starter type of PG.

I don't think theres anyway he develops to the level a no5 pick should play at.

Also I think Terry is the far better player of the two and he has played very well for Dallas, shooting a ridiculous percentage of jumpers and dishing it out pretty well. Now that his got people worth passing too he has shown that he can do more than just score ala his Atlanta days.

Darrell Armstrong may very well still be better than Harris, at least as a PG.

Jason Terry is better suited to play the two. He is not a natural point guard.

Terry is a better 1 than Harris
Terry is a better 2 than Harris

No two ways about it. Terrys numbers are sick as well, he is shooting at a Nash like percentage (and did all through last season as well) and he is proving that he can run the offense as well.

mavsfan1000
11-13-2005, 03:39 AM
Harris is a quality point guard but is not as reliable as Terry. I do like that lineup of Terry at the 2 and Harris at the 1 in some parts of the game. As long as the other team doesn't have a power shooting guard to go with it. Harris, Terry, Daniels, Van Horn, and Nowitzki is a heck of an offensive lineup.

He's a second year player.... that doesn't make him a star in the making. Solid performence nothing more.

Harris was a lottery pick while Beno was picked with a high 20s pick.

8 points and 8 assists while shooting 4-8 from the field, compared to Terry's 9 points and 4 assists shooting only 4-15 fgs. I didnt bump the thread because of this ONE game. I bumped it cuz of how he has been playing the whole year. Yes the season is young, but so far, he is having a great year.

Meh I dont hate Harris I just think he is highly overrated. Plus as a side note my brother is a mavs fan and it gets to him.

So Terry had an off game, it was Dirk who carried the team not Harris. It was a solid game nothing more and he should be doing that given it is his sophmore season and he is a lottery pick. Comparing him to Beno is more an insult to Harris, I mean if it was cloudy over weather he was actually better than a low first round pick, who coincedently in his two career starts has managed better career highs in both points and assists.

So yeah. Either Beno is really good or Harris is pretty average, especially for a no5 pick.

I lived in Madison, WI for five years during the time he was there and he was a special player at that level = very athletic, and a good defender.
I would not be surprised, but Terry is also a pretty good PG.

Dude my extreme homerism fits right in with everyone here and their extreme homerism toward Spurs players. I just happen to love the Spurs as well as love the Badgers.

And, even though I am a Badger Homer, I do believe that Harris has all the skills and potential to be a really good player in this league.

see the :lol in my post?

That means I'm playin. It's all good, as I said I think he can be a solid player, a poor starter or an ok bench guy, but I don't think he'll ever warrant a no5 pick.

I actually sort of enjoy reading Dre's various pro-Wisconsin threads in the same way that I like reading about players from Europe. After all, I think that the only two Badgers in the NBA are Fin and Harris unless that Kiwi kid made a roster.

I know you were playin, I was also (even though its true ;)). I also think he was takin a lil high. I was shocked when I found out he was 5. But I also was pissed that he didnt stay for his senior year. We could have done some serious damage. We almost beat UNC in the elite eight with Alando Tucker. I cant Imagine what we could have done with Harris AND Tucker. But Oh well, he made his choice (one that I would have probably made as well) and now I want to see him suceced (sp?) in the NBA.

Why did he have to go to Dallas?!?!?!?! Thats the only thing I dont like.

As of right now, Fin and Harris are the only Bagers in the league. Caron Butler is from Wisconsin, but played college out of state, so that doesnt count. There have been a few Badgers in the league, but none of them made it like Finley did. Paul Grant was drafted by Minn, but never developed. Mike Wilkinson was on Utah's Summer league team, but didnt make a roster spot.

Wisconsin is not like the other Big States (ie. Cali). We dont have too many players that make it in the NBA. We are a football state first. Basketball is secondary.

To my knowledge Harris and Butler are the only Wisconsin born and raised players in the NBA. Although D. Wade and Michael Finley went to college in the State of Wisconsin (Fin at UW and Wade at Marq.), niether were born here. I think both were from Chicago.
