...the Spurs hadn't traded the rights to their 28th pick, Leandro Barbosa to PHX in the 2003 NBA draft, and used their pick to select "long 3" Josh Howard(selected 29th by Dallas)?

Then maybe we wouldn't have had room to keep Manu??

Solid, I'm right there with you, but every time I think about it ...

Well, that was the price of not knowing the cap ahead of time and wanting to maximize spending power. Speedy was a casualty too. I wanted both but what's done is done.

Cant play the what if game. What if DRob never got hurt and we didnt get the #1 pick? What if the Celtics won the lottery that year? What if Horry's shot in 2003 goes in and LAL goes up 3-2? What if he missed in 2005 and we go down 3-2 to DET? What if the 99 season was locked out for the entire year?

Alls I have to say to the "what if" questions is...

WOAH!! I had the craziest thing happen. I have the TV on in the background for the NFL game. And the moment I send out that last post, a commercial for insurance comes on with the theme of the ad being something about "What If." :lol Weird!

I hate what if questions. It's dumb because those decisions effect future decisions. So you're asking if they had made that move everything else would remain the same. It wouldn't.

That is just wishful thinking, a waste of energy. Great for fantasies, but we exist in real time.

Another reason why giving up 2 #1s in the Rose trade might hurt.
